Enjoy the best of the Kent and Sussex coast and countryside in this single-storey property on a smallholding on the border between the two counties. It’s great for a large group of friends or family looking for a relaxing place to stay with plenty of room. It has a terrace and a large, enclosed lawn for all of you – including furry friends – to enjoy.
The property comfortably sleeps six in three tastefully decorated bedrooms ¬– a king-size, a double and a twin – and the double has an en-suite shower room. The whole house has been styled with guests’ comfort in mind and lots of attention to detail, it’s also been made as eco-friendly as possible. The owners live next door from where they run an equestrian centre, so you’ll see lots of horses about, as well as free-range chickens, ducks, and Labradors. Outside you have access to a large, grassed area kids and canines will love; there’s also a patio with a BBQ and seating.
Being surrounded by beautiful countryside and woodland, with direct access to the Forestry Commission land, there are lots of walks from the door. On many of those walks, you’ll come across a canine-friendly country pub offering good, hearty fare. Walk to Sedlescombe (about 2 miles) home to England’s oldest organic vineyard where you can take a tour and try their wines with lunch or afternoon tea. Uncover the history of 1066 nearby at Battle (3.5 miles), named after the Battle of Hastings (Hastings is 8 miles away on the coast), where you can visit the battle site with your canine companions. Bexhill, the birthplace of British motor racing, is 11 miles away with an excellent arts centre and museum.
