Venturing out of the village, you can immerse yourselves in the natural beauty of the local area; the North York Moors National Park offers a choice of walks through the heather-clad countryside, but you can also enjoy windswept strolls on the coast.
This is a unique cottage with railway views and a comforting blend of contemporary touches and traditional furniture. On the ground floor, there’s a good-sized lounge to relax in, whilst next door there’s a dining room with a wood burner and ample seating around the table. From here, step up into the well-equipped galley kitchen which leads outside. Upstairs, there are three light and airy bedrooms, including a bunk bedroom for the kids. A family bathroom completes the accommodation. Outside, the patio is an ideal spot to enjoy a morning coffee whilst watching the trains go by.
With its unique landscape of hills, woodlands, rivers and valleys, the North York Moors has endless walking opportunities for two-legged and four-legged guests alike, including the famous Blakey Ridge (19.5 miles) which has some of the best views in the country. Whitby (8.5 miles) is a popular seaside town with independent shops/eateries lining its medieval streets. Well-known for its Dracula connections, the 13th-century clifftop ruins of St Hilda''s Abbey are part of the town’s rich heritage. For walks that incorporate a tearoom or a pub, head to picturesque villages such as Hutton-le-Hole (15 miles), which also has artisan crafters’ workshops and a museum.
