If you’re looking for an authentic Cornish seaside cottage for your next holiday, you’ve found it. Hidden away on a narrow alley in the fishing village of East Looe, this 400-year-old fisherman’s cottage is metres from the sea and harbour. It’s perfect for a group of friends or family who want to be able to wander into Looe with easy access to the stunning Cornish coast.
The spacious, four-bedroom cottage is set across three floors. Two of the bedrooms, a double and a twin, and the bathroom, are on the first floor. The second two bedrooms, two more doubles, and the shower room are on the second floor. The ground floor consists of a living room that has a wood burner, a Smart TV, and comfortable sofas to chill out on, and a kitchen/dining room where there’s plenty of room to get together to cook and eat.
As well as having beautiful hikes along the South West Coast Path right on the doorstep, Kilminorth Woods is nearby (a 3-mile drive or a 1.5-mile walk) with gorgeous river and woodland walks – you and your canine companions will be spoilt for choice. Hannafore Beach overlooks Looe Bay and welcomes dogs all year round. The cottage is near the beach, shops, and restaurants in East Looe where you can get fresh fish every day. Or head out on a fishing trip and try to catch your own supper! Wildlife enthusiasts will love the rich flora and fauna on Looe Island, including grey seals, seabirds, and rare plants – trips leave from the pontoon near the RNLI lifeboat station. If you feel like exploring the area, Polperro, where there are lots of canine-compatible tearooms and cafes, is 5 miles away, the ancient fishing village of Polruan is 10 miles away and the stunning Fowey Estuary is 12.5 miles along the coast.
