Property code: OC-GL064

This luxurious lodge overlooking Windermere welcomes families and up to two canine best friends. Its enclosed patio is the perfect place for your pets to roam freely while you enjoy the bubbles of the hot tub or gather around the firepit.

Set in tranquil private grounds, the single-storey cottage is an annexe to Applethwaite Hall, an Arts and Crafts-style former gentleman’s residence. It will impress from the moment you step into its glamorously dark-painted entrance. The open-plan living space is light and bright, boasting a lounge area, with comfortable seating around a Smart TV, a chic dining area and an impressive kitchen with quality appliances. There are two chic bedrooms, both with Smart TVs: a super-king-size with an en-suite shower room and a zip-and-link twin room (which can be a European king-size on request – a little wider than a UK king-size). Completing the interior, the spacious family bathroom is a great place in which to soak after a day’s walking on the fells. Outside, the walled patio (accessed via bi-fold doors in the lounge) features an outside seating area and a hot tub for seven. With faithful friends safe to play, this is the perfect place for al fresco dining and relaxation. The main garden, grounds and woodland of Applethwaite Hall are also available for you to enjoy.

The lodge is located in the foothills of Banner Rigg, and you can pull on your boots, grab your pups’ leads and head out on a choice of walks straight from the door. For shopping and dining, Windermere is just 1 mile and Bowness-on-Windermere 3 miles, and to experience the gorgeous scenery of England’s largest lake from the water, head to the pier at Bowness and hop on board an elegant steamer – four-pawed passengers are welcome, too.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 super-king-size, 1 twin zip-and-link (can be made into a king-size on request)
  • 2 bathrooms – 1 bathroom with shower over the bath and WC, 1 en-suite shower room with WC
  • Oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, Nespresso machine
  • Welcome pack
  • Highchair and travel cot available
  • Smart TVs, Sky TV, DVD player
  • Enclosed private patio area with garden furniture, plus shared access to the grounds of Applethwaite Hall
  • Private hot tub (daily water checks performed)
  • One designated car parking space available. Visitor parking also available on site.
  • Shop and pub 1 mile, beach 20 miles
  • This property will be decorated for Christmas
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards

As weve said previously the lodge is lovely, cant fault it, the beds are comfortable, the decor is great and we love, that we can easily do Saturday to Saturday, staying where we can easily get to visit surrounding places during our stay. We definitely will be staying again in the future. This is our 3rd time staying at this property and (hopefulRead morely) not our last. Hide

We had a fantastic stay here. Very clean throughout, with a well equipped kitchen and big comfortable sofa and beds. Great mod cons...we especially loved the stereo system! The hot tub was a great way to end each day, with the peace of mind of the dog not escaping the garden, which is fully enclosed with high walls. The location was peaceful and peRead morerfect for exploring the lake district. We'd definitely visit again, hopefully we less rain next time! Hide

Bam Lodge was a wonderful place to stay. The cottage had everything you could need and some welcome touches like the coffee machine and fans in each bedroom. The hot tub was great, especially after long walks during the day. Fantastic to have your own parking space. We walked to Windermere regularly (mainly down the track and along the road but theRead morere is a more scenic footpath) and enjoyed the restaurants there. Thank you for the welcome gifts. Hide

Lovely cottage, the kitchen is very well equipped. The hot tub was the highlight as it's a great size. Beds are comfortable the water pressure is spot on. Only downside is that there were contractors working from 8 so disturbed the mornings.

Bam Lodge was very comfortable and well equipped, set on lovely and well maintained grounds. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the location was perfect for us, only a short walk to Windermere. It gave us everything we could have needed for our holiday.

Its a lovely place in a good location. It would have been nice to have had working radiators in the bathrooms (they were stone cold along with the bathrooms) a tumble dryer that worked and a hot rather than lukewarm hot tub on the first evening. We complained about these on the Monday morning at 9am but nothing was done during our stay. These diRead mored spoil our enjoyment to an extent which is a shame as its potentially a great place in an amazingly beautiful area. Hide

Everything was fabulous at Bam Lodge. All the little things thought about, dog waste bags in the courtyard, dog bowls, welcome note and gift (lovely touch), everything you may need in the kitchen. The best equipped cottage we have stayed in.

Bam lodge is in a lovely location with plenty of walks in the area, long or short for your dog. The lodge itself was spotless and spacious with all the equipment that you would need and the bottle of wine and sweets left was a nice gesture. Would definitely book again.
