This luxurious lodge overlooking Windermere welcomes families and up to two canine best friends. Its enclosed patio is the perfect place for your pets to roam freely while you enjoy the bubbles of the hot tub or gather around the firepit.
Set in tranquil private grounds, the single-storey cottage is an annexe to Applethwaite Hall, an Arts and Crafts-style former gentleman’s residence. It will impress from the moment you step into its glamorously dark-painted entrance. The open-plan living space is light and bright, boasting a lounge area, with comfortable seating around a Smart TV, a chic dining area and an impressive kitchen with quality appliances. There are two chic bedrooms, both with Smart TVs: a super-king-size with an en-suite shower room and a zip-and-link twin room (which can be a European king-size on request – a little wider than a UK king-size). Completing the interior, the spacious family bathroom is a great place in which to soak after a day’s walking on the fells. Outside, the walled patio (accessed via bi-fold doors in the lounge) features a barbecue/fire pit, outside seating and a hot tub for seven. With faithful friends safe to play, this is the perfect place for al fresco dining and relaxation. The main garden, grounds and woodland of Applethwaite Hall are also available for you to enjoy.
The lodge is located in the foothills of Banner Rigg, and you can pull on your boots, grab your pups’ leads and head out on a choice of walks straight from the door. For shopping and dining, Windermere is just 1 mile and Bowness-on-Windermere 3 miles, and to experience the gorgeous scenery of England’s largest lake from the water, head to the pier at Bowness and hop on board an elegant steamer – four-pawed passengers are welcome, too.
