Property code: OC-DS257

Nestled in the heart of the picturesque village of Kettlewell in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this stunning house is perfect for special family celebrations or reunions with friends. Spacious throughout, it sleeps ten people across five bedrooms (with an extra sofa bed in the family room) and there’s even a special place in front of the wood burner for four of your canine companions. Immerse yourselves in the rural way of life with walks from your doorstep, the sounds of a babbling brook alongside the terrace, undulating hills in all directions and, of course, a village pub within a few hundred metres.

This house is steeped in history, but inside a tasteful combination of traditional and contemporary décor makes it feel warm and welcoming. There are two reception rooms for you to enjoy and two dining spaces - a formal dining room and a relaxed breakfast room. The country kitchen is light and airy with an AGA and an electric oven, whilst the utility room offers somewhere for wet gear. Two staircases lead up to the beautifully presented bedrooms, three en-suite shower rooms and the family bathroom on the first floor. Outside, there’s a small garden to the front and a large terrace to the rear, overlooking the stream – a great location for al fresco dining.

Keen walkers and their four-legged friends will be satisfied with the abundance of walking routes from Kettlewell itself, with something for all abilities. Further afield, there are charming towns/villages to explore with dog-friendly independent shops, pubs and cafes to enjoy, such as Grassington (8 miles) and Skipton (15 miles). Pretty village Malham (14.5 miles) is also worth a visit as it’s home to the limestone amphitheatre, Malham Cove, and breathtaking gorge, Gordale Scar, and Janet’s Foss Waterfall – all within walking distance of the village.

  • 5 bedrooms – 2 twins, 2 doubles, 1 super-king-size zip-and-link bed (which can be converted to twins on request), plus a good quality sofa bed to sleep 2 guests (with bedding, linen, and towels in adjacent cupboard)  in the family room by arrangement
  • 4 bathrooms – 3 en-suite shower rooms with WCs, 1 family bathroom with shower over the bath and WC
  • Electric oven and ceramic hob, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, two-oven/twin-hob AGA
  • Utility room with fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer
  • Welcome pack
  • 1 travel cot, 1 highchair and stairgates available
  • Wood burner (first basket of logs and kindling is provided)
  • Smart TVs with soundbars and Blu-ray/DVDs in the 2 lounges, Smart TVs in bedrooms, USB sockets in all rooms
  • Mobile signal is variable; a landline telephone is provided for incoming and emergency calls
  • Small, enclosed front garden, rear terrace (overlooking a stream) enclosed with walls, railings and gates
  • Children must be supervised on the terrace at all times, as the beck runs past the rear of the property below the terrace just below the railings
  • There is a stone wall with railings (0.8m – 0.9m high) between the terrace and the beck and a padlocked gate to steps down to the beck. (There is a permanent safety gate provided between the kitchen/utility/log store and terrace to assist with toddlers/infants.)
  • Private parking for 4 cars, plus on-street parking available on a first-come-first-served basis
  • Pub and shop 400 metres

We had a wonderful stay at Littlebeck! For us, the location was perfect - right in the middle of the country, in a location about equidistant from all the family members who were traveling to stay. We spent a long time before the trip organising so that we would arrive to the cottage with enough food to take us through at least a day, to find tRead morehat, on arrival, quite a few of the essentials we had picked up along the journey were already present in the cottage, which was a lovely and welcoming touch, given the closest larger shop is in Skipton. The house is a perfect size for a number of families to stay in comfortably, without tripping over one another. The two living rooms were most welcome, as it allowed us to have one quiet space away from the children, who would be playing nosily in the other! The outside seating, with the BBQ, and parasols, proved a bit of a lifesaving during the May heatwave; the light, cool wind journeying downstream helping us endure unusually high temperatures, whilst also being able to socialise. We all loved our stay at this beautiful cottage. 11 of us aged 16 to 85 were very comfortable. My husband and I had the sofa bed which was not perfect for two adults, but it was only a couple of nights, and could have been much worse, and everyone else in our group found the beds really comfortable. The owners have thought of everything, salt peppeRead morer and napkins in each dining area, and a lovely welcome pack with milk, butter, bread, fruit loaf, tea, coffee and even dog treats for our border collie. The spare keys were very useful for our big group, the location was perfect, amazing walks in every direction. Would love to stay longer next time! Hide

Choose Littlebeck! We were beyond delighted with this beautiful, thoughtfully equipped house. It is large enough to easily accommodate a big party, yet still cosy. The location is dramatic, the walks fascinating and the local attractions plentiful. We cant wait to go back and for longer next time!

Great location. Comfortable cottage but quite old fashioned decor. The gas log burner wouldnt work (gas bottles empty I think) and the smart tv wouldnt work in the other sitting room. However we anll enjoyed our stay.

The cottage is spacious and super comfortable. All bedrooms were great and with most en suite we had no clashes. The location is beautiful and we really loved sitting on the outdoor patio overlooking the stream. It was easy to cook for a group and the living space so large we could even do yoga in the mornings. Really enjoyed our stay at Littlebeck as a large family group of 12 and three dogs. Beautifully located in Kettlewell. The property is very spacious, so people have the space to either sit together, or go and do their own thing. Beds very comfy also, so everyone slept well. Outside terraced patio by the beck was lovely too.
