This charming house sleeping four is deceptively spacious inside, with a tastefully renovated living space that offers you a comfortable holiday. Two faithful hounds are also firmly invited to this family-friendly property so that the whole pack can create life-affirming memories together. In central Filey, it’s brilliantly located for the train station, so you don’t necessarily need a car. And, with the sandy swathes of Filey Beach just 0.5 miles away on foot, the dogs will have a ball! And, after all, that’s what matters.

The lounge here is a spacious affair with a grand feeling thanks to the oak panelling throughout. You can chat, read, watch TV or snooze on the ample comfortable seating around the wood burner-effect gas fire, or sit with the French doors open in fine weather for an indoor-outdoor vibe. The smart kitchen/diner is different again with very light decor and wood flooring, just ideal for your furry friends to find a spot under the modern dining table seating four. Also downstairs, the generous conservatory has rattan-style furniture. Your lucky pups can come and go in between this space and the garden via French doors to find the best place for sun or shade on the furnished patio and lawned garden. The sleeping quarters comprise one king-size and one twin bedroom, both individually decorated to be a relaxing haven from busy life.

Discover the delights of the seaside town of Filey, as it’s all within 0.5 miles. In warmer months, the fascinating Filey Museum will fill you in on the town’s history and they often let well-behaved dogs on leads in too! Enjoy the promenade and 5 miles of beach with your best four-legged buddies. Include a visit to Filey Brigg to the north (2 miles), a small peninsula which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Do NOT bother going. This cottage is way past its best in certain areas, the front outside has peeling paint and the front door is virtually unusable, only in emergencies, and the trek to the back door, through the cottage with cases is therefore more difficult. First impression, was disappointing, tatty rugs, patio doors hard to open. Outside area untidy, having said all that it was generally clean and comfortable and good location for town and beach. We had a good stay with our two dogs but I would not stay again

We had a lovely October week in Strathmore Cottage - 2nd time weve been. The cottage itself is lovely - very comfortable and a nice garden for the dog to explore. Its only about 10 minutes walk to the sea front and there are plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants as well as a big Tesco just over the road. Filey beach itself is great - we went whenRead more the dog restrictions were lifted, but it only appears to be a small part of the beach thats impacted anyway, so would make a good dog-friendly holiday resort throughout the year. Can recommend the Fado & Tide Irish bar and both C&Js and Inghams for fish and chips, although the Chinese we had from the New Kam San was a little disappointing. Hide

A lovely spacious house, well equipped, warm, comfortable and dog friendly too! Fully secure garden is great if you are taking your fur babies with you. Centrally positioned, close to bus & rail stations, shops and the seafront. Situated in a built up residential area, but surprisingly quiet . We would certainly go again.

I enjoyed a lovely few days in Filey. The accommodation is extremely well located to easily walk into Filey centre and to access the beach and Country Park walks. I parked up and walked everywhere with my dog. The property has everything needed for a stay and I was pleased the garden was very secure so I could let my dog have a good wander about.

Strathmore Cottage is well positioned for visiting the centre of Filey and its beautiful promenade. The property has plenty of room for a family of 4 but would benefit from a better cleaning and garden maintenance regime.
