Property code: OC-WAL369

Located just 9 miles from Builth Wells, this charming single-storey annexe offers a couple or small family with a comfortable and cosy bolthole from which to explore the picturesque countryside surrounding the Cambrian Mountains. The annexe features a day bed in its open-plan living area, an en-suite double bedroom, and a shared front yard ideal for al fresco drinks.

The former bakery building retains many of its original features, which now sit alongside those catering to modern requirements. Entering via a hallway shared with the owner’s house, guests soon find themselves in an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner home to a wonderfully preserved inglenook fireplace that once served as the bakery’s oven. This inviting area is perfect for fireside snuggles, hours in the company of a good book or afternoon naps following an active morning. Guests working their way through indulgent meals at the dining table opposite certainly won’t have far to reach to get second helpings from the kitchen. The annexe’s double bedroom comes with an en-suite. Outside, the shared yard offers a scenic place to enjoy drinks and fine weather. There is also stabling for one horse on site.

The numerous bridleways and footpaths that surround the village of Beulah (0.5 miles) are perfect for guests on two and four legs and a great way to observe the area’s wildlife. The market town of Builth Wells (9 miles) offers scenic walks along the River Wye and dog-friendly pubs and eateries. Hikers and climbers will be in their element amongst the Cambrian Mountains (3 miles), with the views from the likes of Pumlumon Fawr, its highest peak at 2,468ft, well worth the effort.
