This colourful, dog-friendly property on the edge of Dartmouth is an ideal getaway spot for a romantic break or family trip. The town (0.5 miles) and all its lovely shops, cafes and restaurants is just a downhill walk or short bus ride away. You can join the South West Coast Path 2 miles away, offering up fantastic opportunities for doggie-pleasing walkies along the River Dart estuary. The property sleeps up to four humans and two dogs, so is ideal for one couple, two couples or a small group of friends.
On entering the property, you’ll find an open-plan living area with a comfy corner sofa where you can snuggle up with the dogs after busy days out. Chilly evening? No problem – light up the cosy wood burner, housed within an impressive exposed stone fireplace, to create a warm environment for you and your pets. The house boasts a sloped garden at the front and a rear garden where you’ll get the sun all day. Here there’s a two-level decked area with seating and a BBQ, which is wonderful for those al fresco feasts in warm weather.
For a fun day out, catch the local ferry across to the picturesque village of Kingswear (1.5 miles) where you can pick up the steam train to Paignton (9 miles), a beautiful seaside town with a Victorian pier. Feel like a picnic by the water? Head to Castle Cove, a quiet spot where you can tuck into your sandwiches while the pets run free. If you have children with you, the Woodlands Family Theme Park (4.5 miles) makes a lovely day out – there are free kennels available where you can leave your fluff bundles for a few hours.
