Property code: OC-W104

This modern property poses no problem for young or old joints (human or canine!) as it’s all on one level with plenty of room to manoeuvre. Offering two bedrooms and a fabulous enclosed garden as well, it’s ideal for a family group, one or two couples. It’s in a quiet location on the outskirts of Whitby, within 1 mile of the historic town centre and only a tiny bit further to the beach for walkies.

This detached bungalow is a great choice, offering bright and airy accommodation for a super comfortable self-catering break. Hard flooring throughout (wood and tile) is a brilliant option with a potentially mucky pup in tow. Entering the generous kitchen, make sure dog towels are to hand if your furry friend has been for a swim or the weather’s not playing ball. There’s all you could want in a holiday home from home, including a breakfast bar or alternatively, you can eat at the table seating four in the dining room. The large lounge is filled with light and is just the place to have a chat, watch TV or read a book. The sleeping quarters comprise one double and one twin bedroom with neutral decor and modern furnishings for a calm vibe. Let your pampered pooch potter about the large garden, having a good sniff, while you relax on the bench.

Climbing the 199 steps to ruined Whitby Abbey (1.5 miles) is a must, not least for the stunning views out to sea. Check out the busy harbour and learn about the links with Captain James Cook, or go mutts with your best furry buddy on the beach. For a different kind of sightseeing, the North Yorkshire Moors Railway goes from Whitby – and yes, well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome for a small fee.

Lovely bungalow in a quiet cul de sac, with a really pretty garden to enjoy. Had a nice homely feel and was quite comfortable, Easy access to amenities and all that Whitby has to offer, with supermarkets and chemist within walking distance. We also dined one evening in Penny Hedge, which was reasonably priced, and the dog was made very welcome toRead moreo! All in all, one of the better properties we have stayed in, Hide

Nice bungalow in a lovely spot. It was surface clean but needed a good deep clean. Both kitchen and bathroom sinks were dirty. Walls and doors very grubby. Ideally needs decorating or at least all washing down. Kitchen well equipped, nice clean bedding.

There are no instructions for the heating and it was cold in the mornings especially in the shower (and I had my 91 year old mother with me) , the shower has very poor pressure. It would have been better with direct rear access to the garden but you have to go out of the kitchen door and then open the back gate to give access for the dog. The gardRead moreen is well maintained and the bungalow is kept nice and clean, there is a field opposite in the cul de sac to take the dog on a lead in the mornings which is handy and Sainsburys is only a short drive down the road, the location is handy for getting into Whitby itself and I think it was about 20 miles into Scarborough. My none recommendation is based solely on the heating situation, but if you are lucky the weather will be good every day but it wasn't for us. Hide

Had a wonderful week at this cottage in Whitby. The location at the end of a cul-de-sac is nicely out of the way (very peaceful), but with a large supermarket and dog-friendly pub less than ten minutes walk away. Whitby centre is only 5 minutes away by car (or a 25-30 minute walk, but quite hilly). The enclosed garden is ideal for dogs. The cotRead moretage itself was very well equipped with everything we needed for our stay, and was clean and comfortable. We will be hopefully be returning very soon. Hide

A nice bungalow in a quiet housing estate,Great location 10 minutes from the town. Could do with some updating to the decor and fixtures and fittings, but acceptable for using as a base when out exploring every day.
