Escape to the countryside with your favourite human and hounds in this idyllic cottage just outside Hindolveston. You’ll have some spectacular dog walks on your doorstep, along the ancient lanes and footpaths surrounding the village, and you’ll also be just 12 miles from the beaches of the North Norfolk coast. At the end of the day, pour yourself a glass of wine and admire the sunset from the south-facing garden.
The cottage is a former 19th-century chapel and is full of quirky features – including a striking spiral staircase - to create a truly unique setting for your holiday. The open-plan lounge/diner is a cosy spot to unwind, snuggled up in the glow of the wood burner, with the hounds stretched out on the rug. There’s also a beautiful wooden dining table for sharing romantic dinners. The stylish kitchen is located on the ground floor, along with a shower room. Climb the iron staircase to a mezzanine floor, where you’ll find a sumptuous king-size bed situated in front of a stained-glass window. The patio garden is fully enclosed, so your furry pals can happily amble around in the sunshine. You’ll also find a bistro set and BBQ for al fresco dining.
If your canine chums like to feel the sand on their paws, head to West Runton Beach (15.5 miles). It’s significantly quieter than its popular neighbours of Cromer and Sheringham and only has a small dog restriction in summer months. The Georgian market town of Holt is 8 miles away and is a lovely place to while away a couple of hours, pottering around the independent shops, or following the owl pavement plaques to discover the town’s key landmarks. Just outside the town is Holt Country Park, with 100 acres of woodland for your hairy chums to sniff and explore.
