This South Devon holiday retreat is located in the picturesque, riverside town of Dartmouth. The property, which boasts fantastic views across the town, welcomes six guests and one waggy-tailed companion and suits both large families and groups of friends. There are some fantastic, woof-welcoming attractions nearby, including the National Trust’s Greenway House (6 miles) and Dartmouth Castle (3.5 miles), and you can enjoy doggy days out to Brixham (5 miles) and Paignton (8 miles).

The elegant townhouse is reached via a flight of external steps. Inside, hang up coats and dog leads in the beautiful, tiled hallway, before heading through to the impressive lounge. This bright and inviting room features a huge bay window offering magnificent views across the town along with high ceilings, period features and a collection of comfortable seating including a chaise longue. The spacious kitchen has all the equipment and worktop space needed to cater for a large group. With hard flooring, this room is a good place for Rover to set up camp. The formal dining room boasts stunning, antique furniture and is a delightful spot for hosting dinner parties and special occasions. The three tastefully decorated bedrooms are upstairs, along with a contemporary bathroom. Outside, soak up the fresh, coastal air on one of two terraces, both of which have outdoor furniture and enjoy views across the town. These spaces are enclosed for your four-pawed pal. On-street parking is available for two cars.

Dartmouth is an attractive, riverside town with some fabulous independent cafes and restaurants, many of which offer al fresco seating. After a bite to eat, enjoy a potter with the pup around the outdoor markets where you can pick up local goods and produce. You and the woofer can board a boat and explore the area from the water or perhaps take a ride on the steam trains of the Dartmouth Steam Railway. The area is a haven for walkers, with multiple long-distance routes to explore including the Dart Valley Trail and the South West Coast Path. There are some gorgeous, paw-friendly beaches nearby, such as Castle Cove and Sugary Cove (both within 4 miles).

No 17 is a substantial property, has an ideal location relative to the town and local amenities and the parking space was invaluable. The number of stairs could be a challenge for some but with friendly neighbours and little or no passing traffic it was generally a welcoming, quiet and enjoyable week.

Stunning house, inviting and cosy we found it a really comfortable place. Beds were great, the house was warm with plenty of hot water. We loved the views over Dartmouth, and its so easy to walk into town. Maybe not the place if you cant manage stairs well, lots internally and outside, but we managed fine. Very happy to recommend and would reRead moreturn tomorrow! The photos don't do this place justice at all, its bright and airy and we loved the colour schemes throughout. Hide

Lovely location and spacious house. Let down by poor cleaning and many rusty kitchen knifes and utensils. Shower that does not drain properly in twin room. Reported these issues ion our last stay so surprised the rusty old and tired kitchen utensils have not been replaced or the shower fixed. Such a shame as the location and house are lovely.

This house is perfect for a family. The number of bathrooms / showers is great and the house is comfortable and has everything you could need. The location is perfect. Having a large parking area in Dartmouth is brilliant and to be able to walk into town in a few minutes is great.

Large, spacious and comfortable house situated in a perfect position for a very short stroll into town. Showing signs of age and possibly in need of some modernisation for some people but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Overstocked with every appliance and piece of equipment needed, there is no worry about not finding what you need.
