Treat yourselves and your canine friend to a bit of luxury at this incredible retreat in the centre of Thorpeness, with the beach less than 0.5 miles away. Sleeping eight in four bedrooms, with two bathrooms, a cute snug that’s perfect for kids, and a communal garden, it’s ideal for friends or family looking for somewhere special.
The house’s exterior is impressive, but you’ll be blown away when you step inside. It’s an upside-down house with the bedrooms and bathrooms on the ground floor, and the living space on the first floor. It’s light and bright, with a three-storey ceiling, exposed beams, and a dog-bed-shaped space under the electric fire. There’s a slouchy sofa to laze on and watch TV, a dining space with contemporary furniture, and a stunning kitchen area with a lovely breakfast bar. Up the winding spiral staircase, you’ll find the snug with floor cushions for lounging. The four bedrooms (on the ground floor) all are lovely and light with contemporary designs and finishes. One of the king rooms has an en-suite shower room and there’s also a wonderful family bathroom. Outside is a shared garden where the dog can potter around and a small patio for evening drinks.
Thorpeness is a quirky seaside resort with a mix of cafes, pubs, ice cream kiosks, and the famous Meare. Enjoy a cool drink in the lovely beer garden at the doggy-welcoming pub just over the road, on the way home from the beach. Fido is welcome to play on the beach too! If you visit at low tide a sandy section is revealed by the sea. Go for walkies heading south from the beach to Aldeburgh (2 miles), packed with galleries, boutiques, and restaurants, and a trip to the dog boutique here is a must.
