Lovely little cottage with old world charm done up to a modern standard. It's centrally located to Snape and Snape Maltings and faces onto the main road through Snape. Very clean and well maintained with WiFi, streaming services and front and rear garden with parking for two vehicles. Would definitely recommend it but beware of low ceilings and bRead moreeams (ouch), squeaky floorboards upstairs and fairly busy main road. If none of these are issues then it will be a perfect stay. Even with them we had a lovely 3 night stay for a wedding at nearby Snape Maltings. Hide

This is a lovely cottage, everything you need is there and the hosts left some essentials for our arrival. The size was perfect for 3/4 adults. Decent smart TV with streaming services and WIFI (mobile signal is low) large fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher.really well equipped, outdoor shed large enough for several bikes. Location is veryRead more good for supermarkets in Saxmundham (8min), Aldeburgh town/beach (10min), Snape Maltings (2min) and great for long walks, our dog enjoyed the many local trails and Blaxhall common, there is a helpful map on the kitchen wall. There are two pubs you can see from the crossroads outside the cottage, both serve excellent food and welcome dogs, Crown is open Tue to Sat and the golden key open 7days. The main road has traffic from around 6am, not a very busy road, low traffic levels in the evening and night. Highly recommended Hide

We love this cozy cottage, with its comfortable furniture and scenic location. The kitchen is very well equipped - we were able to do all the cooking we wanted whilst there. The owners left a generous welcome pack, which was much appreciated. The fire was great and even though the weather was chilly we were always warm in the cottage. The bedlinen Read moreand towels provided were of excellent quality and there is a good selection of books, DVDs and board games. It really feels like a home from home. There are some lovely pubs within walking distance - the Golden Key is our favourite - and Snape is a great base for exploring the local area. We have a dog and are keen runners and we found plenty of beautiful walks and trail runs on the doorstep. Although the cottage looks small from the outside, there was plenty of room for two adults, two kids (11 and 13) and a dog. I also loved the decor - the photographs of local places were particularly nice. In short, Box Cottage was a perfect holiday location for our family and we hope well be back again before long! Hide

This is a very attractive, well-appointed little cottage only 10 minutes' walk from Snape Maltings, and ideally placed for all the beautiful walks in the area with their amazing wildlife. Though hemmed in by other properties, privacy is assured by hedges and fencing. Sadly the one thing these can't keep out is the traffic noise. The main road is tRead morehe only north-south axis east of the A12 at this point, so traffic is constant during the day (OK at night). This means that the otherwise ideal seating area at the front is effectively unusable most of the time. We used the back seating area, which was much quieter. We were grateful for the notes posted around the house to remind us of important things like waste disposal arrangements and using the wall mirror opposite to exit the drive (otherwise a scary undertaking). This is a sign of an experienced and thoughtful owner, and reduces the stress levels for visitors in an unfamiliar house. Hide
