Whisk your other half and up to two lucky pups away to this rural retreat 1.5 miles from Staithes amid beautiful countryside. You’re guaranteed peace and quiet if you want to recharge and relax in this tranquil location, but with wonderful walks from your doorstep, it’s a great opportunity to spend quality time with your pack. This property is a former barn on a small complex with other converted properties, so it has a small private patio and shared use of a games room and a 4-acre paddock.

This one-bed stone cottage has an impressive double-height lounge/diner with comfortable seating, a table for four and a cosy wood burner to help you and Fido snuggle in comfort. This is all under a vaulted and beamed ceiling for added character. Around the corner is the small but perfectly formed galley kitchen. Tiled flooring throughout downstairs is a great choice with potentially mucky paws, just ensure you have plenty of towels to hand! Upstairs, the double bedroom is on a mezzanine level under the same beamed apex ceiling. Settle old scores over a game of snooker in the shared games room. Outside, enjoy a tipple on your own patio or in the shared paddock.

The picturesque fishing village of Staithes is 1.5 miles away with lovely, cobbled streets to explore as well as independent shops, galleries, pubs, cafes and restaurants. The harbour is picture-perfect and there’s a quiet little stretch of beach here for dogs to play fetch in and out of the sea. You need to get a photo at Dog Loup Alley, allegedly the narrowest street in the world at 18 inches wide. Whitby is 11.5 miles south if you want to discover a bigger seaside town or the North York Moors National Park is inland if you fancy a change.

  • 1 double bedroom
  • 1 bathroom with shower and WC

We had a great stay in this lovely part of the world. The cottage was very comfortable and had everything that you could need for a weeks stay. It is ideal for dog owners with a large field at the front to exercise their pet and a beautiful view of the countryside while doing so.

Acorn cottage is lovely a perfect spot for a peaceful break away from it all. The road leading to the property is single track from the nearest village about a mile away, We were lucky to see two deer crossing our path on the road near the ford. Staithes is so close by as well as some great local beaches for dogs walks and fossil hunting. If youRead more plan to visit the pub in the village note that it doesnt permit dogs - good for some guests but not for others. That said there are other pubs nearby that will accept our furry friends. We had a really lovely relaxing 4 nights and would recommend Hide

Lovely cottage in a quiet location. large enclosed field available - which was great for the dog. Dedicated parking space. A great location close to the coast. It's up a single track lane - but was easy to find.

Nickys welcome is warm and accommodating. She was informative and engaging whilst not being intrusive. She shared with us a great drive to see the beautiful area and this did not disappoint. Unfortunately we didnt see the owls or hares but nonetheless a thrilling drive! The accommodation is small but beautifully formed, there is more than enough sRead morepace for 2 (and our springer spaniel). The furniture is very comfortable to relax after a long walk. The kitchen is well equipped and able to cater for breakfast and dinner if you dont feel like venturing out after dark. Our dog particularly enough the field for his run and catching up with the local pheasants.a bit like a busmans holiday for him but his tail never stopped wagging! We booked this property for the field so we could exercise the dog. We were aware the field was over the road but not that it wasnt secure. Also only a path around the edge was usable as the centre had been cut by tractor and cuttings left, the dog got caught in piles of long wet, mown grass. The cottage was advertised as cosy, we didnt realise Read morehow cosy but it given the space it was very well equipped. Hide
