Hidden away amongst the wooded hills and valleys that epitomise the landscapes in the south-eastern fringes of Snowdonia National Park, this quaint cottage is perfect for small groups or dog-owning families seeking tranquillity or adventure. Showcasing a plethora of original features, two cosy bedrooms and a lawned garden, the cottage, within 20 miles from Barmouth, is just the place to put the outside world on paws.

Spacious and naturally lit, every room in the cottage exudes an old-fashioned charm that more modern properties often struggle to replicate. Original floorboards are found throughout, complementing an open fire in the elegant lounge and real slate flooring in both the dining room and kitchen. From long lunches to film nights, your wish is the cottage’s command, no matter what the time of day. When you eventually call it a night, a spacious family bathroom and the comfort of two double bedrooms await on the first floor. A sloped lawn garden to the rear of the cottage adds depth to its quirky nature and is just the place for children and dogs to scamper around under supervision.

The cottage stands within 50 metres of one of the main routes that cut through the centre of the Snowdonia National Park, offering easy access to water sports, field sports, climbing and walking spread across a wide area. The popular seaside resort of Barmouth (19 miles) has a dog-friendly beach and it’s from here that you can all pick up sections of the Meirionnydd and Snowdonia Coast Path, a journey that allows you to enjoy the surrounding area from a whole new perspective.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Oswald Cottage situated in a quiet hamlet in the south of Snowdonia. Offering spacious accommodation comprising two double bedrooms, a large, well equipped kitchen, dining room and pleasant lounge, the bathroom is also spacious with both a bath and shower. We felt very comfortable staying here. Travelling north eRead moreast from the property we immediately ascended a mountain pass providing stunning scenery on the way to Barmouth about 35 minutes to the west. Portmadog and Aberwystwyth are about 50 minutes to the north and south. We should mention the welcoming hotel and bar very close by. Thank you to the owners Hide

We had a lovely holiday staying at Oswalds Cottage which was a beautiful place and as you see from my scores I would recommend it to friends. But we loved it and would tell anybody that it was an excellent choice for touring around Snowdonia. Many thanks. Hide

We really enjoyed our stay at Oswald's Cottage. It's in a great location about 8 miles from Dolgellau. There are some stunning walks nearby including Cader Idris. The cottage is very comfortable and extremely well equipped. There's a separate dining room with a log burner which would be very cosy in the winter. Overall, a clean high standard place Read moreto stay. Hide
