Nestled on the tranquil outskirts of the village of Exminster, this wonderful detached barn-conversion sleeps five people across two bedrooms and welcomes one canine companion. It’s the ideal accommodation option for families or groups of friends in search of a peaceful retreat to call home while they explore the stunning south Devon countryside with their dog. Take your pup for walkies around RSPB Exminster, and in the evening come home to sip wine on the cottage’s deck while your pup enjoys exploring the enclosed garden.
Step inside and make yourself at home by the wood burner in the spacious living room. When it’s time to eat, head to the light and bright kitchen/diner to put your culinary skills to the test. This gorgeous open-plan space is overflowing with country charm and features impressive ceiling beams. Enjoy a sociable dinner around the dining table before heading out to the deck in the garden to crack open a bottle of something cool and crisp and watch the stars come out. Spend a little time relaxing watching TV in the living room as your pup stretches out in front of the wood burner, before retiring to one of the two lovely upstairs bedrooms for the night.
Take your pup for walkies at Dawlish Warren National Nature Reserve (6.5 miles) – a beautiful beach that runs along the mouth of the Exe Estuary. Keep your eyes peeled for short-eared owl, Brent geese and Cirl bunting. Or head to Haldon Forest Park (5 miles), here there are 3,500 acres of woodland to keep tails wagging. There are miles of beautiful trails to explore and your pup is welcome in the park’s cafe too. Lead clips are available on some tables and homemade dog treats available to buy.
