If you’re ready for a romantic getaway in a fairy-tale cottage or want to take your children and dog on a quiet holiday, this is the perfect place for you. There’s room for five, plus one canine companion, so it’s great for a family to spend time and bond together. It’s tucked away in the woods with a stream nearby, ideal for the kids and the dog to paddle and play in on a lazy summer afternoon. You’ll be near Llanfair Caereinion, on the Llanfair river, and close to Snowdonia National Park for big days out or shorter afternoon adventures.

As you approach the cottage, you’ll see what a magical place it is. There’s a beautiful garden, full of places to explore and run around, and complete with a BBQ for al fresco dinners. The dog will be happy to be a sous chef! Inside, the decoration is timeless, with cool stone floors, exposed beams and coordinated wooden finishes. Don’t worry, though: the kitchen has all of the modern accessories you could need. Upstairs, the bedrooms are cosy, comfortable and again feel like you’ve come into a story – finished with sloped ceilings and views onto the woodland. There is one double room, a twin room and a box room, perfect for teens and young adults who want privacy but will still come out and play with their little siblings.

From the cottage it’s easy to get to the local town of Llanfair Caereinion, which is 3.5 miles away. Here, you can find lots of dog-friendly pubs serving delicious grub, do a little exploring or visit the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway, which has plenty of activities for kids, interesting information for trainspotters and welcomes four-legged friends. Alternatively, you can visit the incredible Snowdonia National Park for walks and incredible fishing opportunities. If you’re looking for a holiday with old-world charm and a magic sparkle, this is the right place for you.

Beautiful cottage in a great location. The most comfortable double bed I've ever had while away from home. Lovely, friendly owners. We were gifted with a welcome hamper which included a bottle of wine, a litre of milk and a homemade cake, which was beautiful! As well as tea, coffee, sugar, as well as all the essential cleaning stuff, washing up liqRead moreuid etc. There was also a great multi-fuel wood burner. The only thing lacking was good size logs, plenty of small stuff though, and we bought some ourselves so we had a roaring fire every night. It was so very relaxing. I would definitely stay there again, it's in a great location to use as a base for exploring both mid and north wales. Hide

Gors is a delightful, traditional Welsh cottage but with the added modern facilities needed. Owners were very welcoming and helpful, but not intrusive.

Gors is a lovely little cottage secluded by being on a lower level than the main A458 road and therefore out of sight. It is ideally placed for access to all areas of mid and north Wales.
