Property code: OC-1676

A characterful redbrick cottage brimming with traditional charm and surrounded by leafy Norfolk countryside, this homely hideaway is perfect for a getaway with family and friends with up to three waggy-tailed pals in tow. Scamper through the lush woodland and admire the bluebell speckled meadows at Foxley Wood (5 miles), then warm chilly paws in the warmth of the crackling wood burner.

This home boasts a cheerful country interior with antique furniture, earthy natural tones, and artwork crafted by the property’s owner. Park up in the grand gravel driveway then towel down your soggy pup before stepping inside. Choose from two delightful sitting rooms to unwind in. Flop down in the cosy lounge area and sip an aperitif by the wood burner or gather around the wooden table for celebratory group meals. In the second lounge, grab a book then curl up amongst the soft scatter pillows and bask in the glow of the roaring open fire. Treat the whole pack to a special holiday supper in the light-flooded shaker kitchen. Retire upstairs to discover four well-presented bedrooms. Find the cosiest corner for Fido and friends to snooze in, then choose from a spacious king, an en-suite double, an airy twin, and a single. Sip your morning coffee on the patio and watch four-legged companions bounding in the enclosed garden.

Embark on a morning saunter to spot the swaying fir branches of the Christmas tree farm next door and glimpse the striking tower of Salle Church (600 metres). Secure the perfect holiday souvenir at the weekly Wednesday market in Reepham (less than 2 miles) then refuel at the wonderful 17th-century pub where four-pawed patrons are welcome. Work off lunch with a scenic peddle along the glorious off-road trail of Marriot’s Way (accessible from Reepham, 2 miles), with an abundance of thriving wildlife for curious canines to sniff out.

Our stay was so relaxing in a beautiful cottage in peaceful surroundings. The cottage had everything we needed and the welcome pack was most appreciated, especially the delicious homemade cake. All in all a wonderful break in a clean comfortable cottage.

Thank you for the Easter Eggs, wine, cake and milk. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the house. We loved the garden & patio facilities & the children enjoyed the tree swing in the front garden. Always plenty of hot water for showers and baths. The house was spacious & very well equipped, the only thing we lacked was a couple of larger pans to cookRead more pasta and sauce for 6 people in. The house was a good base to explore North Norfolk. Hide

This property could be a very nice place to stay albeit a bit cramped on the upper floor for seven people. A deeper clean is required in certain areas especially the "en suite shower also the shower attachment was broken so that the shower head would not stay up so that we could stand under it in order to shower properly meaning seven people had tRead moreo share one shower. The kitchen was well equipped and the welcome pack a nice touch. The settee in the adjoining sitting room needs replacing as it is most uncomfortable with the people sitting on the outside seats falling into the person in the middle seat. None of the bedroom furniture apart from the beds is fit for purpose with inadequate size wardrobes and hanging spaces running from back to front making them difficult to use also chests of draws in two of the main bedrooms almost impossible to open and close. I think the furniture is being passed off as "period and cottagey" but this is being run as a business for paying guests in the modern world and should reflect this. Response from holidaycottages.co.uk: Thank you for your review. We can confirm that we will discuss this with the owner and investigate further. We appreciate your feedback as it helps us improve our service. Hide

A lovely, roomy cottage in a very quiet location. Had everything we could need and more. Its was lovely to watch the red kites over the christmas tree farm, listen to the cookoo, and see the deer and two fawns close by.

This was our second stay at Keepers Cottage and it was every bit as good as the first. It's a large, cosy, comfortable house in a lovely, quiet and central part of North Norfolk, within easy reach of coast, Broads, and many other places of interest. We look forward to coming again sometime.

This is a lovely comfortable property to stay in. Just 4 friends, hence wanting 4 bedrooms, but had there been 7 of us, there still would have been plenty of room. Lovely garden, with a gate to a back area that was perfect for a slightly longer leg stretch for our big dog. Beautiful part of the world altogether.

The cottage is perfect and has old original features but also brought up to date with a modern kitchen, TV's and Wi-Fi. Main bathroom has a bath and the most amazing shower, another bedroom has on suite and shower, there is also a downstairs toilet. The garden area is ideal for pets and fully enclosed looking over a Christmas Tree plantation and Read morethe patio area catches the evening sun where you can sit out until dusk and listen for the Owls. The cottage is on a quiet offroad track through some trees and extremely quiet and private. There is ample room for parking. The cottage is very well equipped and you will want for nothing. The cottage is in and ideal location for visiting North Norfolk down to The Broads and has a local Co-Op in nearby Reepham and a Tesco just 15 minutes away in Aylsham, there is a pub nearby in Cawston (The Bell). We loved our stay here and would certainly return again. Hide
