This timber-framed country cottage is nestled within the quaint Suffolk hamlet of Ilketshall St Margaret, 4 miles south of the Norfolk border. Sleeping six guests, gather the family together, including your four-legged friends, and while away the days walking, cycling and exploring countryside trails and National Cycle Routes.
This timber-clad detached lodge is bright and airy, and has been lovingly decorated and furnished with everything needed for a memorable getaway. On entry to the lounge/diner, pillowy sofas invite you to put your feet up and throw logs in the roaring wood burner. On days when you choose to dine at home, the kitchen is filled with everything you need for your culinary creations including a four-seater table for toasting to your holiday. When it’s time to hit the hay, say goodnight to your canine chums and make your way to three bedrooms; a single downstairs with an additional pull-out bed, or a twin or double upstairs, complete with a family bathroom. If you’re not ready to finish the day, end the evening in the steaming hot tub with a view of the stars. When morning rolls around, the dogs can run around in the large meadow area or in the fully fenced, 1-acre dog paddock.
There are plenty of places to visit nearby the cottage, starting with the market town of Bungay 3.5 miles away, where you will find dog-friendly pubs, independent shops for local produce and the imposing Grace I-listed, Bungay Castle. For bird spotting, take to the water at the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads, a vast wetland with lots of routes for your canine companions to sniff out. The area also allows you to get out on the water with activities such as paddleboarding, canoeing and boating.
