Enjoy a bird’s eye view of St Ives harbour from this superbly located second- floor apartment. It’s easy to explore a choice of dog-friendly beaches and walks from the doorstep, while inside there’s a light and airy layout that emphasises together-time.
A flight of stairs leads from street level to the building’s first floor – take the spiral staircase from here up to your apartment where you’ll find a clutter-free kitchen/diner with all the essentials for a hassle-free self-catering stay. There’s a smart bathroom and double bedroom here, while above – and accessed via a further spiral staircase – a mezzanine level creates the lounge area, complete with TV, comfortable sofa bed and far-reaching views across the rooftops to the sea.
There is no garden with this property, but dogs love the sights, sounds and daily activity of St Ives’ working harbour, where a paw-cooling paddle is permitted out of peak times. Close by, there are two beautiful beaches with no canine restrictions: Bamaluz is tucked away between the harbour and the busier Porthgwidden beach, and at low tide Lambeth Walk Beach stretches between the pier by the RNLI Lifeboat Station to Porthminster Beach. As an alternative to the town’s cobbled streets, explore the beautiful grassy headland known as The Island, or follow the South West Coast Path 6.5 miles from St Ives to Zennor. For a day on Cornwall’s southern coast, drive 8 miles cross-country to Marazion – dogs can dash around on the East Beach and, offshore, St Michael’s Mount is always a mesmerising sight. Another must-see, Land’s End is 18 miles from St Ives while 4 miles further, The Minack Theatre in Porthcurno is one of the UK’s most famous outdoor amphitheatres; dogs and their owners can explore the sub-tropical gardens that stretch down to the ocean’s edge here.
