Your pet deserves a lovely holiday too, and this roomy bungalow with a large, enclosed garden and wonderful doggy walks nearby, fits the bill. The detached property is set in the peaceful village of Aldringham and sleeps four guests, as well as one canine companion. Ideal for families or couples, it is 3 miles from historic Aldeburgh with its shops, cultural attractions and dog-friendly pubs. The beach and remarkable village of Thorpeness are within 2 miles.

A large, light-filled conservatory is the hub of this welcoming property. Leading off the dining room and overlooking the mature rear garden, it offers a cosy space for games or tail waggers to enjoy a nap. The homely interior includes fine mid-century furniture, and there is comfortable seating in the sitting room. There are two bedrooms, a double and a twin, plus a study which can double as a third bedroom. Greenery and fencing enclose a large lawn in the garden, with a picnic table on the patio and a pretty seating nook sheltered by honeysuckle.

Watch the waves on Aldeburgh beach from your perch on a giant seashell sculpture. Visitors are encouraged to sit on The Scallop, a controversial artwork celebrating the life of the village’s most famous son, Benjamin Britten. Restrictions apply on the beach from May to September, but you can take your four-legged friends on lovely coastal walks, such as the circular path from Aldeburgh to Thorpeness along a former railway line. Thorpeness, a former hamlet transformed more than a century ago into a fantasy holiday village, has a huge artificial lake (The Meare), dotted with small, artificial islands. Well behaved pups can join you on a boat trip around this fairy-tale setting.

Middabeck is excellent: immaculately clean, a big secure garden for the dog, near to good walks, comfortable, quiet, and a very handy location for all the delights of the Suffolk coast.

This was our 9th visit to Midda Beck and already have another visit booked. It is a lovely property with a large garden which our dog loves running around in. There are woods at the bottom of the lane where we take him for walks. Overall, it is an ideal spot to have a quiet and relaxing holiday.

A perfect property for us. The only shortcoming from our point of view was the lack of wi-fi. The garden exceeded expectations. As we have a dog, we only book properties that claim to have a 'secure garden' but this is the first place we've ever stayed where the garden is truly secure. The kitchen could do with better lighting. It didn't affectRead more us much as we stayed in August and weren't cooking or using the kitchen much after dark. It would be more significant an issue for an autumn or winter let. Most self-catering accommodation doesn't have enough towels, teas-towels, toilet roll or Kitchen roll. Midda Beck was plentiful in all of those items. And it had good sharp kitchen chopping and bread knives (and a pair of scissors in the kitchen) which few self-catering properties have. We would have liked a tea-cosy but that's splitting hairs a bit - and was easy to improvise! The beds and indoor seating is more comfortable than in most properties and there is plenty of garden furniture. The patio is a dream on sunny mornings and the conservatory would be lovely when the weather is less good than it was for us. The property is in a quiet residential culdesac and very conveniently placed for visiting, Snape, Saxmundham, Leiston (all charming little towns) and the coast (especially the lovely Aldeburgh).
