This pet and family-friendly property has an enclosed garden and is well-placed for wanders around the food-lovers’ paradise of Padstow.

Tastefully refurbished and retaining many of its original features, this terraced townhouse has cast iron fireplaces, stripped floorboards, high ceilings and well-dressed windows that all add to its cool coastal vibe. There’s space for family, friends and Fido and Freda to stretch out in the light and airy lounge, where the entertainment includes a Smart TV. And in the dining room there’s more than enough floorspace for a dog to sit in patient anticipation of their after-dinner treat. All the must-haves are in the nearby kitchen, including a dishwasher and washing machine for hassle-free housekeeping. Upstairs, there’s a family bathroom with both a bath and separate shower cubicle, and three peaceful bedrooms. The first has a double bed with a wall hung TV, the second has full-size twin beds and a TV too. The third has a day bed, which is only suitable for children. Outside, the enclosed back garden has a patio and faux lawn on separate levels, plus outdoor seating and a BBQ – don’t forget the extra sausages for Fido and Freda!

This welcoming holiday home is in a quiet residential area, with pubs, shops and restaurants, and Padstow’s picturesque harbour within 500 metres of your doorstep – dogs go mutts for all the delicious food and fishy scents here! Ready for a doggy paddle? A short walk along the coast path leads to Hawkers Cove and adjoining Harbour Cove, where there are wide expanses of light golden sand to explore at low tide. For a change of terrain, the famous Camel trail follows the path of a disused railway line along the estuary to Wadebridge.

Although we managed yo get our VW Golf Saloon car in the parking space provided it was very tight. Once we moved the car we parked in the street which was quiet congested.

We returned for a second time this year and were a little disappointed to find the house looking really tired 6 months on. Its a great location to walking down to the town, we couldnt squeeze into the parking out the back but almost always got a space outside the front. Beds are really comfy, kitchen well stocked and bathroom is always immaculate Read more- the shower was working so we were thankful for that, given previous reviews. Hoping it gets some much needed TLC and updating over the winter, if so wed book again. Hide

We very rarely write reviews; however, on this occasion, we thought we had to write something. Before we even arrived at Samphire House, we received a phone call to say the shower was broken. At the time, we didnt mind as we thought the shower would have been replaced by Monday; however, after a few visits and calls, the shower was replaced on Read morethe Wednesday afternoon. If I had been the owner, I would have ordered the same shower on the Friday or even the Saturday via Screwfix, and the same shower would have been ready for collection at the local Screwfix. Before anyone thinks this is false, I checked myself, and the order would have arrived first thing on Monday morning. We cannot fault the maintenance man that was trying to fix it; I believe the owner just didnt want to spend money. This brings me onto the house itself. The house is tired and needs some attention I.e window handles are loose, making shutting windows hard, the roller blind in the toilet needs replacing, hall carpet is stained and a general refresh is required Hide

Found out 20 minutes before check in time that the shower was broken, we were left without a working shower for 4 days being fobbed off by the company before finally deciding to leave as this had spoiled the holiday and there was no guarantee the issue would be fixed (this last attempted fix would have been on day five of our stay so we would have Read morehad a working shower only for one full day if they had managed to fix it). The company kept coming up with excuses about why the shower had not been fixed but made no effort to discuss the potential for alternative accommodation. The house is nice enough, well positioned for getting into Padstow, and well furnished, but a few minor issues with the oven and hob not being the best to use and could do with a few more glass tumblers. Extremely disappointed overall with the lack of service from Holiday Cottages and will not be using this company again. Hide

We really enjoyed our week at Samphire. It is a gorgeous house which is generous in size for a growing family and very close to Padstow Harbour. Although we didn't have the best weather, we were impressed with the bijoux garden and outdoor facilities. Whilst the house has it's own the parking space at the rear of the property -we didn't use it as fRead moreound it too tight to manoeuvre into (although we nearly always got a space at the front-so not so much of a issue). The lounge, dining room, and bedrooms were decorated nicely, and the bathroom was fabulous. We would certainly consider booking again, and would recommend to friends. Hide

The cottage is within easy walking distance of the centre of Padstow. There is reserved parking but we did not attempt to use it as the access road is very uneven and potholed. Parking on the street was okay but I would imagine it might be more difficult at the height of the season

Lovely cottage. Great location. A bit disappointed there was no welcome pack. At least milk tea & coffee would have been nice after a very long drive!

Absolutely fantastic location, very comfortable and clean. Parking on nearby streets not an issue. Lacked a tumble drier which would have been useful for us given it was a family beach holiday but didnt detract from a lovely few days. Thank you!

Lovely house in a great location (although be aware that provided parking space really is very, very small and accessed through a very tight lane).

A smashing little property with all holidaymakers needs catered for, spotlessly clean and comfortable. The allocated parking space takes a bit of skill with a larger vehicle but we always managed to get a space on the street or next street every day.
