Gather together within this beautiful ancient farmhouse set within the spectacular Yorkshire Dales and you’re sure to have a ball. This traditional Dale house is the perfect base for up to eight guests and two beloved hounds. Boasting beautiful grounds with direct access to a river and with mature trees surrounding the property, you can unleash adventures for all the family to enjoy.

Step into the sumptuous lounge, an inviting space and the ideal setting for a group to relax in after a day of exploring the area. Canine companions can find their comfy spot in front of the wood burner while you head into the spacious kitchen - with its beamed ceiling and original stone walls it’s an enticing social space to cooking in, before tucking into a hearty meal beside the feature stone fireplace in the dining room. On the ground floor, you’ll also find the first of four bedrooms, a double with an en-suite wet room and direct access to the front patio. Head up the wooden staircase to a games room/bedroom, featuring a pool table, sofa bed and shower room. Up the second, stone staircase you’ll find a delightful king-size bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a cosy twin room and a family bathroom. Step outside and everyone is sure to go mutts in the garden; there’s a lawn to the front of the property and a stream to the side which flows into the river and can be accessed via steps directly from here. To the rear, there’s a steep and relatively untamed garden.

Located along the Yorkshire/Cumbria border this top dog retreat is a great base from which to explore both the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the Lake District National Park. Set within the valley of Garsdale on the western slopes of the Pennines, it is the perfect location for those wishing to enjoy the great outdoors; stroll along the Clough River and let your dogs explore the rockpools or perhaps even indulge in a wild dip yourselves? Nearby, Kirkby Stephen (13 miles) is an attractive market town at the gateway of the Eden valley; the Monday market, established in 1352, offers a great opportunity to the whole pack to get out and about and enjoy tasting delicious seasonal produce.

We had a lovely stay, the location was lovely and the house was beautiful. We would say for those with young children the garden is not suitable, the gardens are very steep with a drop down to the patio at the rear and river at the front and the photographed black fencing is not actually on the property.

The cottage was fantastic, full of character and very spacious. The river in the front garden was amazing and so was the view from the hill in the back garden. Everything you could need to cook. Had a brilliant holiday and would definitely go back!

Lovely cottage lovely area, could be cleaner and wouldn't have booked it if I'd been made aware of the water situation.

Beautiful house, plenty of space for guests, bedrooms are all comfortable. Great rooms for social space. Easy parking. Location was perfect for us to explore the local area and walk. But it is remote and youd need a car
