Property code: OC-IBOMH

Nestled within the tranquil village of Iken, this delightful property is one of a collection of barn conversions with plenty of space and is surrounded by walking trails to explore. For a small family or group of friends and their pups, this peaceful getaway is the ideal place to see more of the Suffolk coast.

Step inside, kick off your walking boots and relax in the homely lounge/kitchen/diner. The open-plan room is the social hub of the house and shows off exposed beams and a snuggly wood burner, which you and the pups can stretch out in front of. You’ll be cooking on gas in the colourful kitchen area before serving up culinary delights at the adjoining table. There’s a handy washing machine too, for running damp doggie towels through at the end of a long day of exploring. At the end of the day, there is a choice of a king-size or single bedroom to retire to, both with charming wrought-iron bedsteads and gorgeous exposed brick walls. It couldn’t be cosier! Watch waggy-tailed hounds dash into the shared gardens in the morning while you cook up a full English in the kitchen.

Take your dogs with you to soak up the peaceful views of Tunstall Forest, 3.5 miles away from the cottage. Part of the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Tunstall Forest is a rambler’s paradise with miles of wandering to be had, and it’s a nesting ground for nightjars and woodlarks, so keep your eyes peeled. Take a picnic with you to dine with the pups or head for the colourful beach resort of Aldeburgh, which boasts tummy-filling fish and chips.
