Surrounded by glorious Devon countryside, this stylish purpose-built holiday lodge is a fantastic retreat for couples and families seeking a relaxing hideaway within easy reach of the coast while also being immersed in the woodlands of Exmoor. Offering cosy accommodation for up to four guests and a pet dog, this beautiful log cabin sits alongside the West Lyn River, just a mile south of the quaint Victorian town of Lynton. The lodge features lovely wooden panelling, skylights overhead and a covered veranda which makes it a great spot for trout fishing.

Entering this delightful single-level lodge via the French doors, you will find a spacious, airy and light-filled open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The pretty lounge has a welcoming coal effect electric fire, TV, DVD player and comfortable seating, perfect for a relaxing evening in. There’s a charming dining area in the corner, and the attractive kitchen has a handy additional mini breakfast bar. The lodge also has a refreshing shower room and two cosy bedrooms: a cheerful double and a sweet twin room. Outside, the veranda provides a great spot for your canine pal to relax as you enjoy a spot of fishing by the river. Steps lead down to a picnic bench perfect for enjoying a meal together as you take in this scenic area.

The cottage lies along the northern edge of Exmoor, with miles of wonderful walks for you and your pet from the door. The picturesque town of Lynton is a mile north; known as England’s Little Switzerland, the town has some dog-friendly places to eat and drink and is home to the famous Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway, which your canine pal is welcome to join you on. Dogs can also enjoy nearby beaches including Wringcliff, Lynmouth and Sillery Sands, all within 3 miles – always check ahead for dog restrictions.

Fantastic location in a peaceful gorge, trout-filled river flowing beneath the balcony, very quiet site, local area great for food and days out. River Lodge had everything we needed as a family with a dog.

Excellent location for local places of interest. Most importantly, Lodge and Site were very dog friendly, specific area for dog walking running alongside the River. Very relaxing and tranquil area where the Lodge is situated. Inside, the Lodge has simple decor and is clean with all useful facilities to make the stay comfortable.
