A welcoming family cottage, this delightful retreat is full of charm and provides relaxing holiday accommodation for families and couples exploring a breathtaking part of the North Devon coast. Dating back to Victorian times, the property has been sympathetically updated and features a wood burner, bay windows, exposed stonework and a free-standing roll-top bath. On the outskirts of the secluded village of Mortehoe, the property has plenty of room for up to four human and three canine guests and is just a few hundred metres from the dog-friendly cove of Grunta Beach.
This traditional, terraced cottage has a pretty lounge/diner with plenty of comfortable seating, a bay window with picturesque views, and a cosy wood burner set in an inglenook fireplace backed by a feature stone wall. The beautifully furnished dining space provides plenty of extra space for relaxation. Glass-panelled doors lead from the lounge through to a spacious, elegantly designed kitchen. Upstairs, there’s a family bathroom and a choice of two tasteful bedrooms – a double and a twin – both of which have been decorated in warm neutral tones and offer wonderful views. Outside, there’s a lovely patio space to the front of the cottage offering views towards the sea and making a delightful spot for a morning coffee. To the rear, a small courtyard provides a charming space for you to dine alfresco as your four-pawed pals snooze in the shade.
Perfect for dogs and their owners following the South West Coast Path, Mortehoe is half a mile from the pet-welcoming Rockham Beach and just a mile from Woolacombe Beach (some dog restrictions apply). There are plenty of dog-friendly pubs and cafes in the area, with popular villages and resorts including Ilfracombe, Combe Martin and Croyde all within 11 miles. The western edge of Exmoor is 5.5 miles away.
