This attractive cottage on the edge of Exmoor National Park in beautiful North Devon is a fantastic home for families to spend time together and enjoy the local area with their four-legged friends. Adults will enjoy the peaceful rural setting, breath taking views, sauna and hot tub, whereas the children will love having access to the shared indoor swimming pool, games room, outside play area and farm animals. With coast, countryside and moorland on your doorstep, you’ll find it easy to find somewhere to stretch the dogs’ legs and exhaust the kids; there are also lots of local attractions close by for everyone to enjoy.
This sympathetically converted cottage is one of nine properties set within 18 acres of stunning countryside. With reverse-level layout, on the ground floor are the two bedrooms: one double and one twin, both decorated in calming tones and each with an en-suite bathroom/shower room. Upstairs, the open plan lounge/kitchen/diner is clean, cosy and decorated in neutral tones. There is also the added character of some sloping ceilings. Outside, the 18 acres of gardens and paddock are there to explore or you may prefer to sit and enjoy the views from your enclosed patio area. A few miles away are the shops, eateries and small beach within the village of Combe Martin.
The lively, Victorian seaside town of Ilfracombe is 5 miles away; if you’re feeling adventurous, why not walk there via the picturesque South West Coast Path. Heading deeper into Exmoor, you will find plenty of footpaths and dog-friendly tearooms/pubs; Lynton and Lynmouth’s cliff railway is a particular highlight. For sand and surf, Woolacombe (9 miles) is one of the area’s finest beaches. You also have Exmoor Zoo close by, but Fido might have to stay at home in case he gets scared of the Exmoor Beast.
