Overlooking the North Channel on Scotland's southwestern Galloway Peninsula, this sleek and stylish property is an excellent choice for a special eight-person getaway. You and two beloved canine companions can enjoy the luxurious comforts of this spacious, airy property with a contemporary design and chic touches. While based in the harbour village of Portpatrick, you'll have plenty of amenities nearby while also surrounded by coastline, historical landmarks and the Galloway Forest Park (32 miles).

As you enter the property, you'll notice the crisp, white and grey colour pallet that flows through the interior with natural light pouring through the abundant windows and glass doors. The kitchen is contemporary and minimalist with grey countertops, a breakfast bar at the island and a spacious window seat. Move through to the open-plan lounge/diner with an elegant raised fireplace with a wood burner surrounded by elegant white sofas and an armchair. The suntrap, dining area has more of a cottage feel from the wooden furnishings with a central table and a wine cooler. Also on the ground floor is a family bathroom and three twin rooms – two with en-suites, one with garden access and one with a balcony. Upstairs is the king-size bedroom with a TV, a roll-top bath and a contemporary en-suite shower room. Outside is an enclosed patio with furniture and private parking for three cars.

Start your getaway by walking the hounds around Portpatrick to discover the pretty harbour, a handful of local eateries and some quirky shops (within 0.5 miles). Follow the coastal path from the Old Lighthouse to the ruins of Dunskey Castle (1 mile) or head along the Southern Upland Way for a dip at Sandeel Bay Beach (3 miles). Sniff out the historical Caves of Kilhern (18 miles) and Castle of St John (8 miles).

Beautiful house - true to the pictures. Very spacious and well equipped - had everything we needed (and more). Bedrooms were generous with bathrooms and beds were incredibly comfy. Host was very welcoming, attentive and accommodating at all points throughout our stay if ever we needed her. Lovely setting - beautifully peaceful with gorgeous views.
