A delightful, light-filled chalet on the southern edge of Snowdonia National Park, this beautiful family holiday home is wonderful for a dog-friendly holiday. It’s perched high on a hillside with gasp-worthy views across Cardigan Bay, and just 1 mile from the bustling seaside village of Aberdyfi (Aberdovey), which has plenty of dog-friendly stretches of beach for your furry friends to explore. This three-bedroom retreat is ideal for families and groups of friends keen for a Welsh getaway, offering plenty of fresh air and excellent scenery.
This Swiss-style lodge is located within a peaceful coastal holiday park, surrounded by a sloping lawn and with external steps leading up to the property. Once inside, everything is conveniently on one level. The light-filled living area, with its floor-to-ceiling windows and vaulted ceiling, is a welcoming space for you to unwind with your dogs and fellow guests. Cook group meals in the sleek kitchen and sit down to watch TV, with those stunning coastal views ever-present. The three bedrooms include a cosy double, a single and a bunk bedroom, while a shower room finishes off the indoor section. Outside, the lovely raised, covered veranda creates the perfect spot for tucking into outdoor meals, while the pets sniff out new scents. (Do keep an eye on any curious canines and children, as there’s a steep drop beyond the fence.)
The surrounding area offers an abundance of dog-friendly activities – whether that’s sipping a coffee or pint of ale in one of Aberdovey’s many pubs and cafes or teeing off at the local golf course (1.5 miles) where dogs on leads can accompany you around. For a relaxing morning out, take a leisurely walk along the Wales Coast Path, which stretches 4 miles to Tywyn, or venture deeper into the national park for day hikes and picnics.
