Enjoy a romantic break with your favourite human and hound in this stylish shepherd’s hut on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Nestled within the beautiful Nidderdale National Landscape, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to walks to explore with your four-legged buddy. Just 3 miles away you can pick up the long-distance Nidderdale Way, a 53-mile circular route through the Nidd valley, or uncover the region’s industrial heritage on a walk around the quarry at Coldstones Cut (9 miles).
A small flight of steps leads to the bespoke shepherd’s hut, which boasts a tranquil setting with views across open fields. Inside, the wood-clad walls are painted in a tone to reflect the surrounding landscape, and beautiful exposed woodwork brings a sense of sophisticated rustic charm. The main living space is open plan, with a carefully designed kitchen area along the back wall. Set under the window is a delightful breakfast bar with stools, or you can enjoy mealtimes outside on the terrace. Curl up with a book on the bench-style seating, surrounded by plump cushions and throws, whilst Rover stretches out in front of the roaring wood burner. Tucked away at the far end of the hut is an inviting double bed where you can enjoy lazy mornings catching up on your favourite programmes on the Smart TV. At the opposite end of the hut, a stylish shower room completes the accommodation. Outside, dine alfresco at the picnic bench on your private terrace or take a dip in the quirky outdoor bath as you admire the panoramic views across the Nidderdale landscape. Private parking is available for two cars.
There are some excellent, paw-friendly attractions in the area, including the National Trust’s Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden (5.5 miles), where canine buddies are welcome in all the outdoor areas. You and your waggy-tailed pal can also enjoy an excursion to Brimham Rocks (2.5 miles), to marvel at the fascinating formations that pre-date Jurassic times. The elegant spa town of Harrogate is 9 miles away and has an excellent array of pet-welcoming eateries, as well as independent shops and beautiful public gardens.
