Ideally situated close to the heart of the historic market town of Cockermouth, this cosy, pet-friendly cottage makes a fantastic holiday base for families and friends. With ample space for six human and three canine guests, the welcoming property has been beautifully furnished across four levels and features wooden beams, a cheery wood burner and a stylish, free-standing bath. Within easy reach of both the Lake District and the Cumbria coast, this stylishly updated hideaway is perfect for walkers, cyclists, nature lovers and canine companions discovering the region’s wonderful woodlands, beaches and lakes.

Stepping inside this inviting retreat, the ground floor has a charming snug with a wood burner, leading through to an airy, beautifully arranged country-style kitchen/diner. From the ground floor, a steep staircase leads down into the TV room with plush sofas and a large Smart TV and seating, perfect for enjoying a film in the evenings. Steep cottage-style stairs lead up to the first floor where you will find the colourful main lounge with a Smart TV and comfortable seating. This floor also has a welcoming king-size bedroom and a stylish bathroom with a roll-top bath. Further stairs lead up to the second floor which offers two characterful king-size bedrooms, each with beamed, sloping ceilings. These rooms share a refreshing shower room. Outside, the enclosed courtyard garden has ample outdoor furniture, making a quiet spot for you and your pets to unwind in after a fantastic day exploring this unforgettable area.

Cockermouth sits along the north-western edge of the Lake District, with miles of unforgettable walks to enjoy with your four-legged friends. The nearest lakes are Bassenthwaite Lake (6.5 miles) and Loweswater (8 miles) with Derwentwater also nearby (14 miles). For a day by the sea, there are dog-friendly beaches at Siddick, Maryport and Workington, all within 10 miles.

We had a lovely stay. Everything you could possibly need is provided. The beds are very comfy too. Only downside was the lack of parking as we had two cars, however there are a couple of car parks within walking distance.
