Set in the historic village of Stainland, this spacious cottage has been thoughtfully updated and beautifully furnished to make a fantastic holiday retreat for couples and smaller families. With ample space for up to four guests, the property also has plenty of room for a pair of four-pawed friends to join you as you discover the breathtaking countryside, friendly towns and quaint villages of Calderdale. Featuring exposed stonework, wooden beams, a cheery wood burner and a soothing hot tub, this delightful getaway is a fantastic base for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers exploring a breathtaking part of Yorkshire.

This characterful property features a spacious lounge with a Smart TV, comfortable seating, a beamed ceiling, and a striking stone wall encompassing a rustic wood burner. The country-style kitchen/diner has stone flooring, wooden beams, a farmhouse dining table, and a wealth of useful equipment for preparing celebratory meals. Upstairs, you will find two lovely king-size bedrooms, each with exposed stone walls and timber beams set in high vaulted ceilings. Each bedroom has a refreshing en-suite shower room. Outside, the decked area has steps leading down into the garden which has a picnic bench perfect for enjoying a bite to eat with your pets snoozing in the shade, along with a hot tub ideal for luxuriating in after a wonderful day out.

Stainland offers miles of breathtaking walks for you and your pets to enjoy, with Greetland, Holywell Green, and Elland all within a couple of miles. Popular pet-friendly attractions include Shibden Park and Piece Hall, both in Halifax (5 miles). A little further afield, there are superb walks for your canine friends to lead you along in Haworth (16 miles), home of the Bronte family, and Holmfirth (11 miles), famous for Last of the Summer Wine.

We had a fabulous stay. The cottage was beautifully decorated and immaculately clean on arrival. Mark contacted me the day before our stay with arrival information and recommendations of local walks, areas of interest, and places to eat and drink. He was very responsive and nothing was too much trouble. The photos are stunning, however, its even niRead morecer in reality. We loved dipping in and out of the hot tub and toasting marshmallows of an evening. Id definitely recommend. Hide

Everything was absolutely wonderful and we had a fantastic time. However, the lack of a few kitchen essentials (veg peeler, sieve/colander) was slightly frustrating and it would have been really helpful to know what day the recycling people came, as we would have put the (already very full) container out for collection. Otherwise, fabulous.
