An elegantly appointed urban hideaway with a spacious courtyard garden, situated in the vibrant heart of York. This luxurious property is ideal for couples or friends seeking a stylish stay with a couple of cultured canines in tow. Sniff out the array of chic, dog-friendly eateries set along the narrow lanes of the Shambles (1.5 miles), then stretch out to chomp a chew in the warmth of the wood burner.

Refurbished in 2024, this Victorian property boasts a curated interior with earthy leather textures, richly pigmented colours, and sleek country styling. Grab a fluffy towel and brush off paws before venturing into the cosy lounge. Throw another log on the wood burner and sink onto the seats with a post-adventure snack. Delve back into a holiday read perched on the chair by the bay window with Fido snoozing by your feet. Continue into the contemporary galley kitchen, complete with bespoke shaker cabinetry and wooden worktops. Crack open a bottle of wine then dish out a meaty feast for your hounds. Slide onto a leather chair and settle around the striking circular dining table for a celebratory feast. On sunny days, throw open the French doors to create an indoor-outdoor space for Fido to roam. Retire upstairs to find two tranquil king-size bedrooms with crisp linens, clean lines, and pillowy cushions. Completing the property is a tiled bathroom with a free-standing tub. Outside, dogs can snuffle to their heart's content in the courtyard while you sip a morning coffee.

Well-behaved hounds can enjoy a feast for the senses as they stroll the 20-acre, flower-peppered grounds of Breezy Knees Garden (7.5 miles). Crash through leaves and sniff hello to local wildlife during a saunter at Hob Moor (2.5 miles), or ride along the River Ouse aboard a city cruise boat (1.5 miles) with your four-pawed companion.

Great location, quiet residential with friendly residents. Very clean and exceedingly well stocked, everything is there that you could possibly need. Although the map of York looks as though it is a good walk to the centre it is actually very short and easy. Bishy Road which is a minute away is so good, many independent shops with quality produce aRead morend eateries and a local Sainsburys. Overall we had a super stay in super accomodation. Hide

Excellent terrace house within walking distance from station, central York, a great local pub for meals, cafe, and a park and river walk for the dog. Owner had supplied dog bowls (wed brought our own but nice to know), treats and even a lead if youd forgotten it. Victorian house so it was cold at night. Need to use heating which is supplied but you may need to alter the temp as set at 16 degrees. Narrow steep stairs to bedrooms and bathroom. TV handset temperamental. Kitchen well equipped & basic condiments & kitchen items supplied.Good outside space with furniture. Just need good weather. Lot of local shopRead mores closed early in week. Fine for a short break. York busy and too many tourist shops. Hide

Number 41 is a lovely house. Meticulously clean, with everything we could want for a comfortable stay. Lots of thought had clearly gone into what guests would need. And the little things for dogs was a pleasant surprise (I've never seen that in a holiday cottage before!).
