A sunny, period property with an enclosed courtyard garden, situated in the Cathedral city of Ripon in North Yorkshire. This stylish hideaway is the perfect escape for families or small groups of friends holidaying with a couple of tufty-pawed pals. Leave no stone unturned and no stick unfetched during a visit to the curiously formed landscape of Brimham Rocks (10 miles), before returning home for a post-snuffle snooze in the flicker of the wood burner.

This traditional home features a beautifully bright interior with rich jewel tones, leafy indoor plants, and vibrant patterns. Unclip leads and towel off muddy paws before venturing into the light-dappled kitchen/diner. Cook up supper in the eggshell shaker kitchen while your furry shadow hoovers up any crumbs. Crack open a celebratory bottle of bubbly then congregate at the dining table to feast in the glow of the hanging lights. Pad into the lounge and curl up on the plump sofas with dessert. Scroll the Smart TV for an easy family film or whip out the board games for some tail-wagging fun. Younger guests can escape downstairs to the basement to get competitive in the hidden games room. When the night draws in, ascend the staircase and dive into the soft sheets of the airy king-size room or bright twin bedroom. Pack the leads and embark on an afternoon of culture, perusing the immaculately groomed grounds of Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal (4 miles). Doe-eyed dogs are sure to get a treat or two as you stroll the bustling markets at Ripley Castle (8.5 miles) before enjoying a scenic scamper in the Yorkshire Dales (within 15 miles).

Location of property was excellent. Comfort was too a good standard. Stairs however were difficult as no handrails were present. Kitchen was well equipped.

Weve rented a number of holiday properties over the years and this is up there with the best of them. As townies from Glasgow, we appreciated the central location which was very convenient for all services. All the normal kitchen supplies and equipment were available and we were able to cook just like at home. Lovely holiday house in great location, very quiet area but near to town centre with lots to see and do. A great holiday home well kitted out with everything needed for our break. Bedrooms well furnished and comfortable king size bed. Great to have spacious storage for clothing and plenty hangers. Would recommend.

The owners were very friendly & the house was lovely & clean, in a great central location which was surprisingly quiet at night. The kitchen was big, bright & had a welcome hamper including wine, milk & dog treats. There were a large number of spices & herbs for cooking & felt like a home. The garden faces east & gets the sun for the morning & all Read moreday with solar lights at night. Owners were understanding when we were a little late leaving because of our anxious dog. We had a totally wonderful stay, Susan and Robert were so welcoming. The cottage is exceptional on every level, a true home from home and beautifully decorated throughout. All bedrooms are spacious, the kitchen has everything you need and the location (close to the stunning cathedral) is perfect. Everything is on your doorstep. This is a lovely property- clean, well equipped and beautifully furnished, well looked after. The location is excellent- still quiet but easy walking distance from supermarkets and restaurants/pubs etc. lovely outside sitting area was a real bonus. Would definitely stay again and would recommend.

Lovely cottage. very well equipped and great location and base .A very short walk to local shops and restaurants and the Cathedral.
