This sumptuous converted church is surrounded by ancient woodland that your furry friend won’t be able to resist. A unique choice for groups of friends or large families, it’s the perfect base for outdoor adventures and offers a host of luxurious amenities for a relaxing and restorative break.

Renovated in 2024, the property has impressive stained-glass windows, latched wooden doors and parquet flooring. Original features mingle with modern conveniences throughout – in the open-plan living area, for example, you’ll find an inviting lounge with a wood burner and Smart TV, a snug (two steps up), perfect for relaxation or playing games, and a large dining table for celebratory meals. The shaker-style kitchen includes a convenient island unit and wine storage, and is complemented by a utility with a washing machine (a great place to store and serve your pup’s food). Also on the ground floor is a bunk bedroom, ideal for children, and a shower room. Say goodnight to your pet and head up to the first floor to find the other three bedrooms: two king-size, one of which has an en-suite, and a twin, plus the family bathroom, which boasts a beautiful free-standing bath. Outside, a hard-standing area is the perfect place to clean a muddy dog, and there’s also secure bike storage and a secluded dining area with a BBQ.

Lead the way to adventure in forest trails that start right from your front door. The property is located in the heart of the village of Soudley, surrounded by the Forest of Dean with its abundance of walks. Within 0.5 miles you can explore the beautiful Soudley Ponds, with its range of pond-side paths, or head into the Wye Valley National Landscape, 9 miles, for yet more spectacular scenery.

This place is great! Newly refurbished, very big and clean and packed with everything you could need. We were two families and a dog and this house was perfect for all our needs. It was a privilege to stay in this stunning conversion of a beautiful chapel. So lovely that the church lives on as a place for happy holidays. Everything had been thought of & the owners were so keen to be helpful, responding promptly to a query. Walks from the door particularly delighted our dog & we thoroughly enjoyed all the Forest of Dean had Read moreto offer. Hide

Amazing property set in a wonderful location. The owners have done an amazing job renovating this church to make it a cozy and comfortable place to stay. St Michael's was fully equipped for families and the attention to detail was first class.
