A review from my wife Rachael. This may be a long post but please take the time to read! Wow is how I'll start. Arriving here was easy and fuss free. As we entered daffodil cottage we we greeted with a beautiful basket filled with box of chocolates for our children, a bottle of prosseco for the adults and a beautiful gift for our fur baby, with treRead moreats and a toy for her too. You're greeted by beautiful flowers on the dining table and windowsills, and a great handbook with everything you could need to know not only about the cottage itself but everything you can do outside too. Places to eat, where to go ect. Daffodil cottage is really big and spacious. It is spotlessly cleaned and has everything you could possibly need no matter how long you stay for. I actually forgot towels somehow and they were already there, and plenty of them. The sheets and bedding all smell incredible, and for a dog friendly place there's not a hair or spec of dirt in sight. The cupboards and draws in kitchen are full of everything you could possi ly need. Theres even a tub of dog treats and a few board games for the kids to play. The residence itself is extremely spacious. I cant walk alot so to be able to use a wheelchair in there was a big bonus. Going into and out of the property with a wheelchair is also easily accessed via the back gate through the garden, but also a ramp at the front of the property too. The bedrooms are very big, plenty of space for everyone. For open plan living you really dont feel like you're ontop of each other either. The garden is gorgeous, fully paved and flower basket hanging all around. There is a fire pit for those lovely dry nights and marshmallow roasting. There's plenty of seating, the kids favourite was the swing seat. Last but not least is the hot tub. Easily accessible and easy to use too. We all loved the hot tub and used it multiple times each day. There is a barbecue out there too to use if you're wanting to cook outside on a beautiful day. After settling in, Caroline and Mick came to greet us and make sure we had everything we needed. I cant stress enough just how kind the owners are! We gratefully got to spend some time with Caroline who talked to us about anything my children wanted to know about the animals. No question was too much and we were never made to feel like we were asking too much. Caroline was incredibly warm and kind and I myself as well as the kids really enjoyed getting to know her and everything we learned about northside farm. The sheep were so friendly they even let you pet them, valerie the goat loved being pet too! and Bobby the Shetland pony was a dream horse for kids to see and pet. He was so placid and loved all the attention he could get. We must have visited him multiple times a day, every day. There are alot of larger horses too who are just as beautiful, but we definately had a soft spot for Bobby the Shetland. To stay here is so tranquil and relaxing. To sit outside with a tea on a morning and listen to the sounds of birds and animals is more than idealistic. I can genuinely say we wanted to move into daffodil cottage and never leave. If you're lucky enough to book here you honestly wont regret it!. We will definately be returning customers! We've had so many smiles, laughter and fun! To Caroline and Mick.. thank you for your kindness, hospitality and we really hope to see you again next time we visit! Hide

Fantastic, spacious cottage in gorgeous location. On arrival, we found a lovely gift hamper for us and one for our dog. We were surprised at just how spacious the property is. The extras were a nice touch- tea, coffee, sugar, washing machine and dishwasher pods cleaning stuff, fresh flowers, salt, pepper, dog bowls towels and mat, cooking oil ect. We made lots of use of the fully enclosed outdoor space, we cooked on the BBQ each night and had a dip in the hot tub. There was a big field on the property that the owners let us exercise the dog in, which was really convenient. There is also great walks all around the area. The location was a great base for exploring the area, we visited Beamish, Durham, Redcar, Newcastle and Barnard Castle all within easy reach. The owners were on hand for anything we needed, but also gave us our space to enjoy the farm. We will definitely be back. Hide
