Boasting tall, vaulted, wooden beamed ceilings and a large, open-plan living space heated with a wood burner, this charming converted barn is an excellent choice for a group of up to six guests and two canine companions who want to spend quality time together. Enjoy the tranquil countryside location of this property while staying in Derbyshire and spend your time exploring the nearby historic landmarks, quaint English towns and the Peak District National Park.

Step inside and find yourself in the bright and spacious open-plan lounge/diner with neutral-toned decor, a wooden beamed ceiling and rustic decor. To one side of the room are two plump sofas surrounding a TV and a crackling wood burner. On the other side of this space is a formal dining table which sits beneath low-hanging contemporary lighting. Around the corner is a farmhouse-style ‘U’-shaped kitchen with wooden surface tops. A downstairs cloakroom offers storage space and a hallway leads to two double bedrooms. Also on this level is a family bathroom. Upstairs, you’ll find a twin room with an en-suite shower room. Outside, is an enclosed garden with a BBQ and furniture.

While staying in the sleepy hamlet of Waldley, you could explore the countryside dog walking trails from your doorstep along the brook and through the fields. Head into the village of Rocester (2.5 miles) for a meal out or stroll along the River Churnet – keep an eye out for Fosser Sculpture. Step back in time at the medieval ruins of Tutbury Castle (10 miles), which is said to be haunted. Lead the way to adventure with a trip to the Peak District National Park and visit Thor’s Cave or walk along the Dolfscote Dale hiking area (both within 18.5 miles).

A lovely, comfortable and well equipped property. Recently renovated so everything is spotlessly clean and all equipment etc.. brand new. A welcome basket with tea/coffee/milk/ bread etc.. was also a lovely touch. An easy walk to the pub if you want to eat out but the kitchen was well equipped for eating in. Would definitely recommend
