Spacious and beautifully furnished, it sleeps eight guests and offers a memorable holiday home for pet-loving families or friends. Up to four canine companions are welcome to share your stay, with wonderful lake and fellside walks to explore together. The period property is located on the Greystoke Castle Estate in the delightful,village of Greystoke, just 6.5 miles from scenic Ullswater and the glorious Northern fells.

Stylish comfort and fine pieces of vintage furniture create a lovely welcoming feel, with original windows that fill the historic house with light. The inviting lounge houses sumptuous seating before a wood burner, while the impressive formal dining room is perfect for celebration meals. Keen cooks will enjoy using the range cooker in the country kitchen. Also on the ground floor is a large conservatory with seating. Climb the beautiful staircase to find four delightful bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and shower rooms, comprising three super-king-size rooms, and one twin. Outside, the private, enclosed front garden has a lawn and outdoor seating, while the charming rear garden is shared with the owners.

Picturesque Greystoke offers a dog-friendly pub on the village green serving home-cooked food, a farm shop and heated open-air swimming pool. Head for Ullswater and breathtaking views on a walk around the shore, or boat cruise with hop-and-off stops for picnics. Hire a kayak, go fishing and enjoy a wild swim with your furry friends. Visit the historic market town of Penrith (5 miles) to explore its specialist shops and fascinating museum with interactive craft workshops for children during holiday times. Ruined Penrith Castle stands guard over a beautiful park with a children’s play area, crazy golf, and tennis courts.

Had a lovely stay - every need was catered for, and Mire and Neville were super accommodating hosts! Nothing was too much trouble for them. The property really has some character - we loved it!

What a dream it has been to stay at this property. The home is welcoming, with its unique character and history. It has everything you might be looking for to have a great week in the Lake District: a large kitchen to cook in together, a fireplace for evening chats, a beautiful conservatory for a morning coffee. Algars Garth is a very comfortable place to stay - a spacious, clean, warm, interesting and well equipped house with the very friendly and charming owners on hand next door if anything is needed. A great place to return to after a days hiking with a good pub across the road. Had a great stay at this warm,well equipped,spacious house. Location is excellent with lovely walks from the door and a pub with a great beer garden a stone throw away. The hosts are welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Would definitely return.

Very much a home first and foremost. The kitchen and adjacent dining room will complement your home cooking. The newly refurbished kitchen is a delight to work in with the top quality appliances and kitchenware. Another fantastic stay at Algars Garth. The house is a real home from home and unlike many holiday cottages the kitchen extremely well equipped. If you feel like eating out though the pub across the road is very welcoming.

The cottage lounge was very well equipped with furniture, sofas etc and was very homely. The kitchen was excellent and all was to a very high standard.
