A peaceful pack of four guests (three humans and one four-pawed pal), is invited to explore the awe-inspiring Dorset Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with a stay in this chocolate-box cottage. Positioned between lively Bridport (1 mile) and the Jurassic Coast destination of West Bay (1.5 miles), you’re all set to explore so much Dorset beauty with man’s best friend by your side throughout a long or short stay here. The cottage itself is part of the area’s rich history, originating from a barn that made up one of the very first properties in the village of Bothenhampton. Now a perfect destination for dog-loving couples or small families, you’ll set tails wagging straight away as you explore the upside-down layout of this lovely house.
On arrival, you’ll need to pass through the entirely enclosed, sunny, south-facing garden to find the property’s entrance. This dog-friendly destination is a wonderful introduction to the house, with patio space for human guests to enjoy the great outdoors, too. Once inside, pass the ground floor with two bedrooms and a bathroom as you make your way upstairs. Rover will love having their entire pack close by when unwinding in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner on the property’s first floor, a space with a cosy wood burner-effect electric fire for keeping toes and paws warm late at night.
Wander down to West Bay (1.5 miles) to find three beaches separated by the lively harbour, one of which is dog friendly with unrestricted pet access throughout the year. Pups on leads are always welcome to sniff out adventure as you walk along the coast, following the South West Coast Path route to admire the extraordinary Jurassic Coast cliffs that put this area on the map. Follow this route along to Devon’s iconic Chesil Beach (8 miles), an 18-mile stretch backed by appealing countryside.
