Set on the edge of the Lake District National Park near the south-west Cumbrian coast, this cottage is the perfect base for a family or group of friends who enjoy days by the sea and hiking in nature. The bright and traditional interiors boast a mix of contemporary and antique-style decor and the outdoor space is ideal for hosting a small garden party.
Walk through the hallway into the elegant and lovingly decorated lounge with chandelier-style lighting, an eye-catching open fire and tones of red throughout. Wooden furnishings and patterned curtains create a timeless cottage feel while the glass patio doors let in plenty of natural light. Continue into the neutral-toned contemporary kitchen with an additional wood burner and a large Range cooker. Also on the ground floor is a formal dining room with a large wooden table. Upstairs you’ll find a family bathroom, a separate WC and three double bedrooms. Outside is a spacious, enclosed garden with furniture and a shed.
Explore the village of Gosforth, which sits on the edge of the national park and is home to a couple of independent eateries plus a convenience store and pottery workshop (within 0,5 miles). Just 3.5 miles away is the dog-friendly Seascale Beach – if you head south you’ll reach the Drigg Sand Dunes & Beach nature reserve (6 miles).
