Pop on your pup’s lead and walk just a few metres from this coastal townhouse to one of the best beaches in Wales for a glorious romp on the sand. You’re also close to scenic walks and, when you feel hungry, Aberdovey’s dog-friendly eateries. A fabulous getaway for a solo traveller or a couple plus a canine friend, the cottage is set over three storeys and has plenty of space to spread out and relax.
Let your four-pawed pal lead you into the cottage’s open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, a characterful space with a beamed ceiling and stone fireplace inset with a wood burner. After cooking supper in the compact kitchen area – equipped with everything you’ll need to create holiday meals – you can dine at the table for two and then settle into the comfy seating for a quiet evening with your hound at your feet. Alternatively, head up to the first floor, where there’s a welcoming snug with a large sofa, Smart TV and atmospheric art on the walls. The shower room is on this floor, too. When you take the cottage-style stairs to the second floor, you’ll find the gorgeous double bedroom, with a low, sloping ceiling, skylights and a metal bed – a softly carpeted eyrie in which to completely switch off and get a good night’s sleep.
In the village you’ll find shops, galleries and plenty of welcoming places to eat and drink, plus a stunning beach, much of which welcomes four-pawed chums all year round. You’re on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park, so pull on your hiking boots and explore this stunning natural landscape, including a magnificent walk to Craig yr Aderyn (the site of an Iron Age hillfort) or the spectacular Dolgoch Falls, both within 10 miles.
