Take your pet with you when you stay at this Scottish holiday lodge on a park in picturesque Aberdeenshire. Situated 5 miles from Banchory and 28 miles from Balmoral, the three-bedroom retreat sleeps six guests and comes with a private hot tub. Perks for your pup include long walks beside the River Dee and day trips to the Cairngorm National Park, 11.5 miles away.

Follow your pet up on to the wooden deck and into the light-filled lodge. Cleverly designed to offer open-plan living, the accommodation here provides exceptional comfort for both pups and people. Relax on the soft seating to watch TV while your happy hound dozes in a corner and daydreams about his exciting Scottish adventures. Feed him over in the kitchen area and prepare something tasty for the rest of your party to sit down to at the table. Settle your chum for the night before heading through to one of the sumptuous bedrooms. These include a double bedroom, with an en-suite shower room, and two twins. There is also a family wet room. Savour the opportunities for outdoor living afforded by this single-storey lodge. Enjoy the fresh air out on the enclosed deck, as you bubble in the sunken hot tub or dine under the stars with your contented canine close by.

Venture 4.5 miles from the lodge to stretch furry legs with a walk past the historic Eslie the Greater and Nine Stanes stone circles. Visit Balmoral Castle, 28 miles and Crathes Castle, 8.5 miles away, where four-pawed companions can explore the estate and beautiful gardens with you, then join you in the cafe afterwards. Plan a day trip to the coast at Stonehaven, 17 miles away, where dogs are welcome on the beach all year round. Stop at dog-friendly Dunnottar Castle, 19 miles from the lodge, before heading back.

Linvale had everything that we wanted, it was very comfortable, lovely quiet location, great views and the hot tub was a bonus. I would very much like to return and enjoy another holiday there. Linvale is a great base for exploring in all directions.
