The nearby vibrant market town of Hay-on-Wye (5 miles) is renowned for its annual book festival, local independent shops and cafes and many places welcome your four-legged friend.

This characterful barn with exposed wooden ceiling beams and light hues on the walls is a welcoming place to relax. Enter through the rear into the handy boot room – and then the main body of the cottage. A light and airy lobby provides access to a generously sized lounge for you and four paws to unwind, with plenty of plush seating and a Smart TV for movie nights. There is a spacious open-plan kitchen/diner with a contemporary feel and all the appliances to make meal preparation a cinch. Upstairs, you’ll find three well-proportioned bedrooms: two doubles (one with an en-suite shower room) and a twin bedroom with an en-suite shower room. A family bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC completes this attractive accommodation. Outside is an enclosed garden and a terrace area with a table, chairs, and BBQ, making it the perfect spot for dining alfresco on fine evenings.

Head 10 miles into Hereford, and your hound can scamper off lead as you climb to the top of Hay Bluff to enjoy stunning panoramic views. Head 18 miles to the Brecon Canal Basin, and you can enjoy walks or boat trips along the canal. It is well worth heading into Brecon Beacons/Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, and Pen-y-Fan (25 miles) is an ideal choice for walk; suitable for all ages.
