Bowness-on-Windermere is a hive of activity throughout the year, with many companies offering all manner of outdoor activities and water sports. The town also has a great range of independent shops and paw-friendly eateries. As expected, the walking in the area is exceptional. From the town, let the hounds lead the way to the jaw-dropping viewpoint of Orrest Head (1 mile), which provides panoramic views across the lake and surrounding fells. Alternatively, wander down to Bowness Pier (0.5 miles) to board one of the boats, to admire the iconic scenery from the water.
