This luxurious coastal retreat is in Amble, on the dramatic Northumberland coast. The town’s bustling harbour is just 1 mile away, along with the paw-friendly beach. The spacious property sleeps eight guests and two pups, and has a choice of social spaces and an enclosed outdoor area that’s perfect for furry guests. Nearby doggy days out include Bamburgh Castle (25.5 miles) and National Trust Cragside (20 miles).

The spectacular holiday home is arranged across three levels. The property oozes style and sophistication, with creative mood lighting, elegant furniture, contemporary decor, and luxurious underfloor heating. On the ground floor, you’ll find a fabulous, open-plan kitchen/diner with a choice of places for entertaining at both the central island and the large dining table. On a summer’s day, open the French doors to the enclosed patio, extending the social space further and allowing the pups to wander in and out. The kitchen/diner opens into a sleek lounge, with a comfortable L-shaped sofa and a Smart TV for enjoying family movie nights. Completing the ground floor is a handy boot/utility room for storing dog-walking gear. Heading upstairs, you’ll find three of the exquisite bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities. On the second floor, discover a gorgeous chalet-style lounge set in the eaves, with a range of comfortable seating, Smart TV, and a few steps leading to a mezzanine area with a magnificent, sunken, Italian spa bath – the perfect place to revive weary legs after a long walk with the hounds. Bi-fold doors lead from this lounge to a west-facing balcony, for sipping sundowners and stargazing on balmy nights. The final bedroom completes this floor, and also boasts an en-suite shower room. Outside, to the rear of the property, is a courtyard-style patio. This space is fully enclosed for your four-pawed pals, and also has furniture for al fresco entertaining.

Amble’s sandy beach welcomes canine visitors all year and is the perfect spot for a picnic on a sunny afternoon or a paddle in the sea. When it comes to dinner, why not pick up some fresh seafood from one of the shacks at the harbour, or perhaps head into town to dine at one of the many woof-welcoming eateries? There are some spectacular walks from Amble, including a pretty path following the River Coquet, which leads to Warkworth (1 mile). Here, you and the furballs can explore the historic Warkworth Castle and Hermitage.

This is a very well - presented modern property which was a comfortable base for our visit to Northumberland. The heating system was very effective - a bonus during a week when outside temperatures were low. We enjoyed the spacious living areas and en suite bedrooms. The utility area near the rear entrance was a useful place to shed outdoor coats aRead morend shoes. The centre of Amble with its shops and restaurants is a short stroll away while Alnwick and the coastal villages are within easy reach. Hide
