Nestled within an ancient village in the idyllic Bedfordshire countryside, this light and airy barn masterfully combines rustic charm with contemporary comfort. It’s the perfect choice for larger groups or families seeking a rural retreat accompanied by one or two furry friends.

The open-plan design welcomes you into a comfortable lounge furnished with a Smart TV and ample seating, creating an ideal space for relaxation. Move into the sleek kitchen/diner, well-equipped for preparing delicious meals, featuring a dining table, chairs, and a convenient breakfast bar. Expansive bi-folding doors seamlessly connect the house with the courtyard, offering a perfect blend of indoor and outdoor living for Rover to enjoy. At the end of the day, three bedrooms await on the lower level. A double room with an en-suite shower room, another double room, and a king-size room with a zip-and-link bed that can transform into a twin upon request. A luxurious bathroom and a separate utility room add to the convenience. Upstairs, you'll discover another spacious double room with stunning countryside views and its own en-suite shower room. Outside, a garden table, chairs, and a BBQ await, an ideal space to bask in the sun and indulge in al fresco dining while watching your four-legged friends sniff around their new surroundings.

Dog walkers will be in heaven with doorstep countryside walks, including a 1-mile stroll to Totternhoe Knolls Wildlife Trust, where spoil heaps left from long-ago quarrying have developed into impressive flower-rich chalk grasslands. For a taste of traditional fare, the local pub is 0.5 miles away and warmly welcomes canine companions. Head to Dunstable (3 miles) and its iconic downs for panoramic views, or visit the vibrant town centre, which provides opportunities for shopping and dining. More energetic hounds might like to explore the steeps of Ivinghoe Beacon (5 miles), which lead to sweeping hilltop vistas overlooking the area.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Barn, 2 families, 4 adults and 4 children. Lots of room, very clean and comfortable. For such a large property it still felt cosy. We used this as a base to go out and do other activities, Rachel and Mark were really friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

Beautiful newly built house with wonderful walks around the nearby nature reserve. 3 large comfortable sofas, well positioned for chatting. Generous outdoor seating on the patio with cosy blankets provided for evening BBQ's. A warm welcome from the owners & their family. We enjoyed lunchtime drinks watching red kites & paragliders at The Cross KeysRead more, a short walk from the house. Excellent long, lazy lunch at The Five Bells, restaurant quality food with a good wine list, as opposed to pub grub. Hide

Had a wonderful stay at The Barn. Lovely, clean, spacious and warm. Lots of good walks right on the doorstep, so the dog and I found a different route everyday. Owners were welcoming and helpful.

Rented the cottage over Christmas period. Stunning build, with all required luxurious facilities. Nice area, in lovely countryside, only a stone's throw from major travel networks. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay.
