This tail-wagging traditional Yorkshire cottage nestled in the sleepy village of Nawton offers the ultimate rural break for couples and families looking to explore the countless tracks and trails carving their way through North Yorkshire with their four-pawed pal. Leave no stick un-fetched when discovering the rustic railways, charming villages, and scenic walks in the surrounding area.

After a busy day on the trails, follow the warmth of the roaring wood burner-effect electric fire into the rustic yet homely lounge to unwind weary walking muscles as you relax on the plush sofa. Your tufty-pawed pal won’t be able to resist taking a snooze beside the hearth at your feet. Lead the way into the charming kitchen/diner which boasts plenty of space for your top dog’s water bowl and everything you need to rustle up some tasty, locally sourced treats. When you long to pause from chasing your tail, head upstairs to retire to the super-king-size zip-and-link bedroom (which can be made up as a twin) or cosy single bedroom for a well-deserved rest before tomorrow’s adventure. A family shower room completes the upstairs. Outside, dine alfresco to the sound of birdsong in the large, landscaped garden as playful pups let off some steam roaming around the lawn.

Those with a nose for adventure will go barking mad for a break in Nawton. Explore the surrounding countryside to find plenty of stick-throwing opportunities and some exciting new smells hiking the North York Moors National Park, 12 miles away. Sniff out the area’s best local produce from nearby Helmsley, 3 miles away, before enjoying a scenic stroll through the 5 acres of beautiful gardens at Helmsley Walled Garden, 3.5 miles away. Soak up the local scenery by jumping aboard a steam train with your canine companion at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway from Pickering, 10.5 miles away.

The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. It's everything a cottage should be and we felt at home straight away. Off road parking is good providing the car is not too big. The garden is secluded and ideal for relaxing in. Very peaceful. The local pub serves good food at very reasonable prices. It is quite a busy place full of local people.Read more We also ate at Fusion Spice which was excellent. Both places offer takeaway service. Hide

Beautiful cottage, feels isolated (in a good way) despite being in a village
