Introduce your pets to the beauty of the Cairngorms National Park at this remote cottage nestled within the Angus Glens. You’ll have unbeatable walking trails to sniff out accessible from your front door, with some crossing the enchanting Glen Doll Forest 150 metres away. The accommodation, an annexe of an 1860s shooting lodge, sleeps four guests over its two bedrooms, with one doggie welcome to join you.
Enter your temporary dwelling to find a well-equipped kitchen where you can prepare home-cooked meals after a satisfying day exploring this beautiful part of rural Scotland. Tired from all the walking? Rest those bones in the inviting lounge, where sofas and a Smart TV await, along with a wood burner for the dog to doze off next to. The property is decorated in a welcoming, homely style, with plenty of uplifting colours, wooden furniture and tasteful artwork. Outside, you’ll have your own private patio with furniture and a BBQ for sizzling up an al fresco feast. Your dog can roam free in this enclosed space, though we bet she’ll be hovering near the food, her nose sniffing optimistically!
The area is popular with mountain bikers, rock climbers and trekkers for its incredible rugged scenery and unspoilt natural setting. You can sample the local hospitality (and ale) 4 miles down the road, where there’s a pub and restaurant. The nearest shops are 18 miles away in Northmuir – we told you this was remote! For a rewarding walk your pet will adore, we recommend sniffing out the Corrie Fee Nature Reserve (150 metres). Follow the trail through the waymarked forest and up onto the Cairngorm plateau for awe-inspiring views.
