This delightful Shepherd’s hut in Buttercrambe village is ideal for a couple looking for a relaxing romantic getaway with a four-legged third wheel. Located near York and set among rolling green fields and serene countryside, Buttercambe offers a delightful haven with walks along the River Derwent from your doorstep to Stamford Bridge.

This unique and charming property has a few steps to the entrance, and after that is all on one level. Located in the enchanting Aldby Gardens, it is the perfect bolthole for a relaxing getaway. The soothing light tones in the decor are offset with some vibrant colour in the furnishings, creating a cosy and homely feel. Relax on the sofa and unwind in front of the TV with four paws resting at your feet with a wood burner effect electric fire for chilly evenings. The small kitchen has appliances so you can prepare and enjoy a simple morning brew and toast out on the decking. Adjacent to the kitchen is the bathroom with a walk-in shower. The double bedroom has a TV. For cooking meals, head to the large shared separate kitchen building with all the necessary appliances to whip up a romantic dinner. Outside is a beautifully landscaped garden, perfect for relaxing and watching the wildlife.

There are plenty of great days out nearby. Head to York (10 miles) for shopping and a boat trip with your pup to see the sights from the river, and then explore The Shambles for a bite to eat. One of the best ways to see the Moors is from a North York Moors Railway carriage from Pickering (18.5 miles) across to the seaside town of Whitby. Alternatively, discover the Howardian Hills, where four paws are welcome at both Kirkham Abbey (6.5 miles) - which has a lovely riverside walk - and Castle Howard (10 miles).

We couldn't have asked for anymore! A perfect place to stay, clean, welcoming, everything you could ever want. If there were one tiny thing, some small hooks on the blinds on the bedroom windows would be great. We sleep with windows open. A beautiful, literally secret, garden. We were surprised that all the buildings were for our exclusive use, much nicer than we expected. Every possible utensil was there for us and the shepherds hut was really comfortable. It was nice to be able to let the dog out in to the enclosed garden in complete safety. Thank you!
